I did a search on here and didn't find any info on this, but I've searched for Toyota Red Coolant (not pre-mixed) and some dealer websites say it's NLA(not longer available)

What gives? What am I missing? Did they come up some new formulation or are they just not making it right now for some reason? Am I searching the wrong party number?

Here's one example:

I think they only sell it 50/50. to many people not using distilled water with it causing issues.

It says "Not For Sale" (No longer available for purchase) on their web site, which means they don't want to ship it. You can buy it from your local Toyota dealer. Same for windshields (fragile) and some other bulky parts that would cost too much to ship.

If it was discontinued the web site would say "Discontinued".

Some vendors do sell it online, try a search

Maybe shipping would be a deal-killer since it would most likely be considered Hazmat....

I saw this one, but shipping to CA is $18!. I'll probably just stick to the 50/50 mix even though it's more per gallon than the straight coolant.

Just go to your local dealer and pick some up. I picked up a few gallons locally a few weeks ago.

^^^This^^^ is the best route. Toyota dealers sell the undiluted Toyota Red in the gallon jugs. then get a couple gallons of distilled water from Wallymarts. Get extra if you plan on doing a flush or two using distilled water (3 gallons/flush).

I'll check that out N95 mask and all.

So you have to wear a mask everywhere you go now, in Cali?

I got some a couple of months ago off of Amazon...I hope it's legit:

there is several differently manufacturers of red coolant concentrate. worldpac/advanced auto parts carries pentosin and ‘OEM’ brand. i have tested both brands with numerous long term customers at my shop with zero issue.

Just switch to green and you'll be able to get coolant everywhere and at a reasonable price.

conventional green doesn’t last as long without turning acidic in my experience. also, if you don’t fully flush the red, mixing green in will leave a gel that doesn’t flow.

if i didn’t have access to red, i’d just use water until i did because of this. 5-10% coolant in the water is enough to prevent corrosion.

My dealer has both but they only "keep a few gallons of the red for those guys that just have to have it." Said any vehicle, no matter what year that comes in to their service department for a flush gets 50/50.

Getting ready to flush and fill my 2001 - I bought the 50/50 but keep thinking to go back and get the red.

I have read that 50/50 isn't recommended for the 1fz...is that real? Mine came with Red (but PO probably took it to dealer so maybe it got 50/50). Getting ready to flush (and yes I know about green but I don't feel like going through that many flushes or reading coolant threads). I'm not a chemist, why would 50/50 be bad? Other than the price.
