Hello. I just bought new trim, It comes with the brackets installed and a little foam on each bracket. Do I install them dry or is there a special silicone made by 3M brand for use in the holes in the quarter panel?

Where are you located? In the US our 80 Series came with black rubber coated metal moldings but otherwise they are the same.

AFAIK they are designed to be installed as is, no sealant. However over time (years) the small foam gasket can deteriorate which can then allow water
to trickle into the quarter panels and doors. The doors have large drain holes (and water does get by the rubber wipers anyways) so NBD but the quarter panels have very small drain slits/holes (where panels come together) that are often clogged with dirt (or blocked by undercoating) so any water that gets in the quarter panel cavities might not drain out especially if they're never been cleaned.

If you decide to add a small button of sealant to each hole/clip (or pushed up from the underside after installation of the molding) IMHO pick a non-hardening type (like butyl rubber) but then again that may not be needed at all. If you add too much sealant directly under the molding it can squish out from under the molding and make a mess.

FWIW

Thanks for the advice. Some other questions I have: The “C” shape half moon vent Louvers come with a rubber gasket that is not attached to many places on the perimeter of them. I am planning to glue them back with “3M 03601 Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive” Do you think is the right choice?
2nd. Is it good Idea to use some type of grease or Fluidfilm between the Quarter Panel painted surface and the Window weatherstripping rubber mold?
