I've addressed this problem before with the outcome of possible problems, but no solution(s) and I believed I've found the problem; The light will come on 30 seconds after I start the truck and then 5 minutes later it will go away. Then if it feels like it, the light will come on and turn off once again 5 minutes later. I checked the oil and its full. I still have plenty of miles left until the next oil change. What's the deal? Is it electrical? Altenator starting to go bad?

The oil level sensor bolts into the side of the upper oil pan. Have you checked the FSM to see if there is a testing procedure for it?

I had my sensor out recently on my 96. The way it's mounted in there it can get cocked at an angle which would make it more sensitive. It is gasketed with an O-ring so you could probably pull it and see what I mean but I'd have a new O-ring on hand as a back up.
