The green stripe clashes with the colors of my 80s so I use OEM whenever possible.
If it isn't possible I use NAPA Gold (relabeled Gates Green stripe) so it doesn't clash.

Oh hell no! No silicone! NEVER!I thought you posted a pic of your 80 with a bunch of blue silicone hoses on it..........
No that was me got an entire set of Free HPS hoses so... I ran with themI thought you posted a pic of your 80 with a bunch of blue silicone hoses on it..........
yup HPS hoses are al pre bent and come with stout hose clamps, I replaced with constant torques. If I paid I would replace all hoses with OEM and carry OEM as backups. Most of the 80s out there had 20+ year old Toyota hoses before they were changed out. I figure if they last 20 years that's a good run. The Toyota ones come bent and marked making installation even easier. Why mess with anything else? It's just not worth the couple bucks you save to get the right bends and the factory fit in my opinion.

I don't know, maybe green strip will hold 40 years
Wait, how old I will be then? mmmm Dead
I read here the Gatez is better then Toyota for PHH
yea after just installing them im already looking at swapping them out bt first Im east to way west maybe even moab again this time in the fj hps were a free score i thoguhtIf you're talking about the HPS silicone hoses keep an eye on them. There are documented cases of the silicone hoses weeping and failing even with Breeze constant tension clamps.
