A question for anyone who has had the center console out of their GX470.

I have been wondering how much room, if any, exists behind the front of the console in the small area behind the seat heater switches and below the ash tray. I would like to utilize this space and not sure if there is much room OR wiring that could be easily damaged by drilling holes. Here are three potential uses I am considering in descending order:

1) Is there enough room for a smaller HAM/CB radio?

2) Is there enough room for a row of rocker switches?

3) Is there enough room for small screws to hold a small flash light holder? I would not want to drill, with the console still in the truck, and hit wire and cause damage.

Is there enough room, behind this space to consider any of these options?

Switches for sure, CB doubtful. #3, probably. It is actually fairly easy to remove.

Exactly. Either way, you're not going to want to drill blindly, so you'll need to remove it anyways. Then you'll see what you're working with back there.
