Can you move the case more forward..??

just drill holes on it is not a big deal..

Its a high end thule. easy on, easy off, so no drilling. when I shift the box forward, it causes it to vibrate in the wind, going THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK. Im thinking about buying an enclosed trailer

It rides great pushed all the way aft. Thule makes a good roof top carrier. just kind of a pain in the ass to get stuff in and out.

If I ever finish my 80-20 platform, I be able to carrry a load of stuff, also verity secure..

Looks interesting. Whatcha got going on there? I see lots of do-dads...

I have easily had 400# on my factory rack. My neighbors are always amazed! I would get out the welder and build a two section(front and rear) rack that would attach to the factory bars. Use the standard kyak saddles and make it two levels. Similar to this:

Something along these lines is what I had in mind, attached to a roof basket/rack. I'm just hoping for the $$$ vs effort route.

We can just barely open the rear hatch when the Yakima Skybox is on our LX570. I've often considered swapping out the rack for the longer LC rack.

I spent some time in SE Asia. They really know how to load a rack out that way.

Or a bike...

Haha, looks like me on moving day! Have you tried a Thule overhead box? The attachment clamps adjust differently, maybe enough adjustment to move it forward enough without going too far. I ran a medium sized one (5ft ish) on my last 4runner with no issues. It was mounted with the nose just above the back of the sunroof (Albeit, the runner had the same aerodynamics as a brick, so...)

Who's running a big burly full length basket/safari rack and liking it? Definitely interested in the details on that big kid Erector Set, Patineto.

Adjustable air spoiler with integrated lights...

Side skirts, for the kids to climb, vertical for the luggage not to move., double deck to carry things like plywood and then other items on the top..

Sideways Extension but able to rotate (to load up the bicycles for example)

If you rotate the stems the structure become totally flat and very rigid.

Back side for climbing to, or as a plaftform extension (almost 2" )

You're a mad-scientist! I'd never thought to use bike parts for a build. Are those raft frame tubes? That's some Frankenstein genius going on there! What's the plan to mount it to the rig?

Not as minimalist as @LandCruiserPhil - but took it off last summer to reorganize everything.

Yes, it works very well for what we do. It is a Front Runner Wind Cheetah v1.

This was the guy's solution. His wife wasn't convinced and he ask the mud audience for an opinion. You can imagine the feedback it was hysterical.
