A minor problem with Aussie / JDM vehicles is RHD. This reduces the appeal.

No idea what someone would pay for it but a guess, $2000 to $5000 USD.

You don't state the mileage and I'm assuming someone would want the parts more than the vehicle.

To get a better idea go to:

Luxury Imports - Importing the finest in Exotic Land Cruisers

Luxury Imports - Calgary, Alberta

Some of these do get to the US. To be legally imported to the US, I think the vehicle needs to be at least 25 years old.

I do have a 86 HJ60 but it was the previous owners main vehicle when he moved back into the US. He was allowed to bring 1 vehicle with him.

First of all its worth what someone is willing to pay for it...having said that I would say it worth more for the parts (drive train) $2-3k

Actually, the Canadians have no need to import HJ60s as they have them there already. Your best market is, in fact, the United States, if this is a 1983 or older (25 year rule). The RHD issue might keep some prospective purchasers away, but from the research I have done, if the vehicle is legal, a RHD might actually be worth slightly more due to the kitch factor. Some people just like being different and will pay more. Driving a RHD sure does get attention, even if you don't care for it. I adjusted to it in days, and liked it quite a bit actually, except with drive-through banking, etc.

I purchased an Australian 8/81 HJ60, not turboed, in October of 2006. It had just become eligible for legal importation, but later discovered that it was actually entered illegally and had been here about 6 months too early, hence gray-market, though titled in FL). I paid $8,500, thinking it was clean. I was a douche bag chump (some would question the word "was") and got scammed. I had a bad case of diesel lust and a loan check burning a hole in my pocket...

I do love the truck (or should I say loved it--it got cannibalized). It had just under 200K kilometers on it. The engine was and still is is tight, the H41 had a badly worn synchro (and I upgraded to the H55F), the knucles were shot, but everything worked, all glass intact. It was SUA, with 3" lift springs, appeared decent, until the rust began to come through the body filler. and man o man did that bitch have rust!!! Had I known the true condition, I would have walked away. In the condition I ignorantly THOUGHT it was, I might have paid $9,000.

My advice, if you wish to sell it:
Document the body condition extremely well, with lots of photos, with close ups of all the rust. Repair all rust the right way and document that too. Respray to B+ condition. Get a new rear bumper. Clean it like it is your balls just before prom night. Spend days and days cleaning it, engine bay, under carriage, upholstery...the works. Fix every little thing that needs attention. Collect all repair documents and receipts, if you have them. Get a respected mechanic to examine the entire vehicle and come up with a list of needed repairs. Get a compression check. Deliver all this information to any prospective buyer including the mechanic's phone number.

If you do all these things, and if the vehicle is in good mechanical condition and is not all spent and tired, you'll easily get $10,000, possibly $12-15,000 in American Dollars. Yes, this is my honest, informed appraisal. Check eBay listings over here, though HJ60s only come up every few months. When BJ42s, HJ60s and other diesel Landcruisers come up, they fetch much more than the 2F/3FE versions. Clean HJ60 units from Australia seem to be pretty rare...you Aussies are rough on your trucks...seems that there is no such thing as a Mall Cruiser in the Land of Oz, even in NSW.

yep can see what you are saying as for rust there is not much in it just raer 1/4's but was going to get new skins from toyota until i got a price for just one side $1850:bang: so that stop me geting them was also going to put new carpet in it the seats have no rips and the dash has no cracks in it but the motor has 360.000 on the clock but has never missed a bet and the 5 speed when it starts to heat up it hard but not that hard to go from 3rd to 2ed

360,000 kilometers = 223,000 miles. That'll knock at least a few thousand off of the value, maybe as much as $4,000, unless you rebuild. Your turbo set up looks pretty rough too, no offense. Home made?
