I am curious to hear what you have to say. Mine will be seatcovers and mats.. BUT THAT DOESN'T COUNT.. so what I'm leaning towards is OME 3" suspension lift med-hvy (possibly with Blistein shocks rather than OME though).

First thing I'd invest is some time learning to read the FAQs like best bang for the buck mod etc :flipoff2:

I voted suspension, but personally bought tires first. The tires on mine were shot when I got it.

I vote new owner................................ :flipoff2:

Good point... nothing like needing to "invest in some time learning to read the FAQs". fortunately I have learned to read the FAQs and can move to the next step.. but yes.. the FAQ is great as well as the Forum with it's plethora of knowledge, knowledgable members, and knowledgable smart_sses...

Remove fender flares followed by tires and then lift.

Baseline all fluids...ya its not flashy but imho it is THE most important for a new to you rig.

Oh and don't try to go toe to toe with Junk and out smart(ass) him....you'll loose...

You asked a leading and incomplete question. I will cross by asking what are your intentions for the vehicle? Once that question is answered you will be able to obtain constructive answers.

Fraid I've gotta go with the 1hd-ft diesel conversion as number one. It's probably gonna take a while for number two! But then I'm going for suspension. The engine is allready purchased, and I'm lining up a 5 speed this week. Should finish having it installed in mid August by a Canadian diesel whiz. Stop drooling on my Post

Not happening here...........

no brainer!
first is good tires. Everything else is secondary.

CDL Switch - Inexpensive and invaluable...

An IH8MUD sticker. What else.

I asked an open ended question. I am not asking anyone what they think MY first mod would be. I am asking what YOUR first mod would be.

But I'll go down trying! Really I'm not a smart_ss.. nor do I try to be one--I'm no good at it. But am I supposed to just take it? I mean come on.. this is America.. Tax my Tea? Hell no B-TCH! We're gonna have a revolution!!! I've been trained the last 8 years of my life to not get B-TCH'd out..

My first mod would be protection. I would start with sliders and t-case skid plate. Why? Because if I did anything else first I would be itching to take it out on the trail. If you have any body damage that might have been prevented with sliders or the t-case kid plate it will probably be more expensive that them combined.

Regards

Alvaro

Again, depends on intended usage.

Daily driven primary vehicle: Baseline ALL maintainence and equip with appropriate tires.

multi purpose vehicle: as above with more agressive tires.

Trail vehicle, as above plus:
#1 Agressive tires, 305-70-16 (a lift is not required for tires of this size)
#2 Sliders
#3 winch and suitable front bumper to mount same
#4 lift, on the order of OME 850J/863
#5 Rear bumper/tire carrier like Slee or comperable
#6 Lockers, if you were not lucky enough to score a vehicle already equipped

Did you finish all of your maintance. If you truck is broke down somewhere do to a PHH all the other parts won't help you. Just me bein a Buzz kill.
