What tyre size?

Anybody try these? I thought it was clever (and cheap). Probably wouldn't work too well with the OE wheels because of the position of the valve stem (it would stick out another 3/4") but on other wheel designs....

For my 70 series, I think I will just drill a hole, opposite of the existing valve stem and pointing towards the hub rather than outwards. I'll go with the Rimrock RAD valves... similar in concept to the idea above, just faster and lower profile. Also, with two valve stems, easier to monitor the pressure while inflating/deflating.

Have about 500-miles, all pavement unfortunately, on the new Cooper S/T MAXX and liking them very, very much.

They are no noisier than my former Toyo ATlls and in fact they seem quieter from memory. But better handling, cornering and overall compliancy.

I just hope carcass durability is on par with the Toyos in the all things rocky terrain off-road.

Interested to hear how the Coopers do today with the icy roads Dan.
The TSL Super Swampers were actually pretty impressive, if I had dropped the PSI to 15 they probably would have done better.

^ Just got back from Death Valley...as usual big miles over washboard, rocks including Lippincott trail, etc., and so far I'm very impressed with my Cooper S/T MAXX choice. I do get a little rub here and there but nothing I would consider a problem. But then again I'm running a 1" body lift; however no wheel spacers; YMMV.

These tires, even though wider than my former Toyo's (285/75R18) are quieter, smoother and better handling off-road. On road handling, i.e. cornering, is similar to the narrower Toyos. And I do like having more air volume between the wheel and road/trail surface...along with more lateral/width rubber protection of the 305mm width on my OEM 8" wide wheels.
