What temp does your 62 run at? More opinions the better!!!

1-thermo and gaskets are brand new
2-system has been "burped"
3-Fan clutch is good
4-coolant level is good
5-Engine is newly rebuilt by a good shop and resassembled by guys who know what they are doing
6-leaks are gone

My needle sits on the middle line or just barely below most of the time but floats above it a little seemingly when it sits at a light but at other times too but i never go all the way to HOT. I am not used to that is it normal for a 62?
I read the thread on cleaning the fuel gauge contacts and the temp contacts and it sounded intriguing. Also the truck has both a tranny cooler that is mounted in front of part of the radiator and 2 hella 4000's(thinking the recent addition of these mightve added some temp).
ENLIGHTEN me if you can and tell me what your experience is... does that temp usually stay that high?

Do yourself a favor and get an AM temp gauge. These engines should run around 180 to 190.

I have the same situation with my cruiser so I will be interested in what other members say. I thought that the temp and the fuel gauges usually goes up together, could be wrong though, only my temp guage moves.

My 62 ran a bit hot before too. Always was a tad below half, would bump up above half at stoplights occasionally. Last summer I went out wheeling in 100 degree temps and it was overheating. Had to roll down the windows and crank the heat . Anyway, I bought and installed a newly used radiator (old one had a small leak) and thermostat. Now it sits solidly at about 1/3 up the gauge.

Yeah i thought the same about the gauges moving together but I am willing to try anything.
Radiator is brand new so That cant be it either(forgot to put that in original post).

it was done before it got to me but its Toyota
