What spec/market LC's Did Puerto Rico Get?

I bought a 2008 LC and I did a car fax on it and it turns out it came from PR(I'm from USA)!! It's a VX trim level so it got me wondering; what other spec lc did PR get? Did they receive LC's for south america market or what?

Puerto Rico is the US. Same laws and vehicle requirements. So same Land Cruiser. You will occasionally see a weird Hyundai or Toyota van in PR but they are US spec (just not sold here).

Right that’s what I thought too. But this one vin decoded as a VX and it says VX on the back of it. I know that we only got the 1 trim (base) in the states. So unless this LC is an oddball I’m not sure what it is. Toyota’s website can’t vin decode it.

VX is the lower trim level sold in Australia. The higher spec sold there (similar to US trim level) is called the Sahara. So in the US, we basically drive Saharas, but with 5.7 V8 petrol rather than the diesel engines in the Australian version.

Do you want to know something really strange? The LC 200 i bought new at the Toyota dealer in Juneau, Alaska was badged a Sahara. Not on the title but on the tailgate. When i asked the salesman if that was real he just shrugged.

I know as least one guy in the US who added “Sahara” to his own tailgate…
