What rear bumper is this?

Slee does rear bumpers without the swing out pivots, built in trailer wiring point, and with the chain attachments next to the hitch? That's exactly what I'm looking for!

whoops wrong bumper

fainvail has an Irbis it would seem by that thread. Is that a pic of Loud's truck?

It would have been great if Slee put safety chain brackets on his bumper.
Towing with the Slee bumper makes this a chore sometimes.

I hate to point out the obvious but it's stated in post 4:
"Ok techie stuff. I had Irbis Offroad build me a rear bumper. He had done some nice work for the guys in the club. I felt I had spent enough money with Slee getting the lift and sliders. (little did I knowI had just scratched the surface with them) I had read an article in a magazine about cutting the rear frame off a Lexus 470 to gain more clearance. This apealed to me. So I had them chop the rear and build me a custom swing out and repair my now broken lower control arm mounts. (Zane did a great write up on how) as well as fix my bent LCA's."

Which bumper are you refering to? If you're refering to post 17, I don't know, but you could PM 1loudlx and see if it's his or any other stats on that rig.

Sorry if I was unclear, yes I was refering to post 17. I tried to link just that post, but it put up the whole thread.

In that specific post, it is the Slee rear bumper

Yes mine is void of swing out spindles and has safety chain provisions along with a tow plug integrated into the face. You can't get them without spindles, not since 2008. Plus the chain attachment points and tow plug were post production modifications.

Thanks, exactly what I was wondering!!

Understandable why Slee didn't. Spresso helped me install some safety chain brackets. We repurposed the OEM tie down brackets. I think it came out great!

Looks good, but ~$3K I should have got safety chain brackets included.
It would have been a <$5 add on during production at Slee.

The bumper is not rated for towing. So why add safety chain provisions? There's a long debate about this already lets squash it now...you're not going to get tow chain provisions put on by Slee. You're more than welcome to MODIFY them on your own after you receive the product.

It most definitely wouldn't have been less than $5. My wild guess would be more like ($250-500 per bumper given the limited sales) to certify this bumper for a towing capacity.

I may have misspoken or not made myself clear.

I did not state I wanted towing capacity certified. I simply just wished there were safety chain brackets ($2.50 x 2 or whatever the inexpensive cost it might be) to match the tow hitch. Why have a hitch w/o the chain brackets? Seems like mounting a winch w/o a fairlead...

Anyway, new bumper customers to Slee should make this request when they place an order. They'll be glad in the long run.

That was my only question. And loud, that question has never been answered AFAIK.

I believe Slee won't put them on there for liability purposes - the bumper is not certified for towing so no safety chain loops which would indicate the bumper is made for towing. The next question would be why does it have a receiver; however, a receiver does not mean its intended purpose is to tow as one can do a myriad of things with a receiver hitch aside from towing.

I have a Slee rear and use it for towing all the time. I use the bolt holes above the hitch for the safety chains - works well.

Sorry, Jason, that was my assumption as well, to put the safety chain loops on would imply it was designed/rated for towing. But perhaps with enough disclaimers, Slee would do it anyway. He offers it for the 80 series...
