I am collecting parts for my 40 an will be pulling out the bad 2F block and replacing it with a good motor.

I will replace the motor mounts, front/rear seals, maybe the oil pan gaskets, clutch components. What else do I need to change?

Also, why are the FJ40 Aisin clutch & brake master cylinders too expensive? I only priced these at Whosale Auto Parts which is where I bought my FJ60 parts at a really good price. Is there a good aftermarket brand I could use instead of Aisin?

TIA,
Luis

Side oil cooler gasket, fuel pump gasket...

You can get Aisin pretty cheap at RockAuto.com.
edit: I thought I got my Aisin slave cylinder from them. I don't see them offering it now.

Sometimes the NAPA/O'Reilly/Autozone parts are relabeled Aisin parts. You just need to open the box and look.

I've rebuilt the clutch and brake master cylinder's on my 40's, it's not hard and a hell of a lot cheaper, although O'Reilly's usually has pretty decent prices on these and 9 times out of 10, they have the parts needed, where others may not have. O'Reilly's is my go to place if I can't find it anywhere else...locally... .02

Thanks All.

Rockauto doesn't seem to have Aisin parts for the 40, but Cruiser Corps seems to have Asin parts at reasonable prices.
