is that have the prado motor no one seems to like?

Mid wheel base, LJ series... probably the 2LTE.

for $ 16,000 ? wtf? is the guy nuts?

For about that much you can get a HZJ73 ZX (but it won't have lockers for that price) and it's a far, far superior vehicle.

Oh, well...

1991 LJ73, dreaded engine but the rest seems real clean. LHD will be popular espec in Quebec. price is high for a LJ but not out of line for a LHD version.
i wouldn't touch it but i am sure there is some sucker out there.

If it is a Euro spec 2.5 then it should have the VM motori diesel instead of the 2lte.

Interesting,so are they any better then the 2LTE? I was curious in regards to the engine size as he might have listed the wrong size,looks like some of the trucks were re-engined for europe with the VM motors,same company that produces the CRD engines for Chrysler models and looks like a few other automakers.

VM Motori S.p.A.

Could these engines be a replacement option now for everyone that owns the dreaded 2LTE?,$$$$ I bet.

I dont know much about them. In fact anybody that has them in their cruisers dont say anything about them.
Off topic here, Toyota is coming out with the D-CAT 150 a 148hp 2.2liter 4 cylinder with over 300ft/lbs of torque at around 400lbs

Sorry you don't know what you're talking about. *some* BJ73 were sold with the VM. A Euro-spec 1991 LJ will have the 2LT-II engine with mechanical control fuel injection and no EGR. The cylinder head is not bulletproof but it's a fine little truck for its intended use.

Nobody with at least a little sanity should have them in there cruiser still :doh:

HZJ73 pros : torque, power, reliability
LJ73 pros : weight, handling, comfort, traction, fuel economy, cost.

for $16,000 it should better come with a seat cover that looks good and can cook though ;)

ummm, lets discuss:
a HZJ73 will get the same or better fuel economy. how can you really expect fuel economy from a small engine turning 4.90 gearing down the highway?
you can get a HZJ73 with lockers front and rear, a LJ can get rear locker only. the coil flexs stock very close to the same as the leafed HZJ.
cost... as in what? purchase? repairs? mods?
weight HZJ73 is 2020 kg and the LJ73 is 2300 kg

advantage is? nothing really. both are comfortable.

Soon for North America according to 8 Lug Deisel Magazine the D-Cat that is

The add says 2.5 not 2.4 so unless it is false advertising. I should have said "if it isEURO spec 2.5 it is a VM Motori instead of a 2lte"
2.5= VM Motori
2.4= Kife or shayzen
I knew that the Heavy Duty(s) came with the 5cyl VM and Light came with 2lte or 2lt D or whatever

the actual size of the engine is 2446cc so if you round down it is a 2.4 if you round up it is a 2.5.
over the years i have heard people call the 3B a 3.5L diesel due to the same confusion. if the seller is new to Land Cruisers it could be a honest mistake.

I think it has these 2AD-FHV 2AD-FTV 1AD-FTV

I saw that truck for sale too that was listed and it did look pretty clean. It sometimes gets pretty tempting to think about it because it is LHD. What has happened to all the RHD vehicles in Quebec any way?

the behicles are still there but those that are not registered have been "banned" by the powers that be informing the inspection facilities they WILL NOT inspect RHD vehicles. with no inspection you can not register, no registration = banned.
when you have power and an agenda, you can commit unethical actions without repercusions.
