What made you choose a LC, what else did you consider

I've owned 3 200's 2008,11,13. I was driving close to 80k miles a year and it was the only luxury SUV that could handle the millage, quality ride and capable off-road. My partner tried a RR and now has a 200. They are just tough as hell.

Besides. Most people don't have a clue what they are or how much they cost.

I really don't think for most people the comparisons are realistic. If you would buy a suburban/Inifiniti/escalade, you are in the minority of people who would buy a 200 LC. Lexus maybe, but the 200 series wouldn't be appealing if you weren't a LC guy/gal. I have had nearly all makes at this point, and in the end I come back to Toyotas and LCs. Mainly because I want longevity and resale value. I love some of the newer GM stuff...for the 1st 100k miles. Then I don't trust them. Because I have been burned over and over by thinking they have improved. Now I have 4 LCs in the driveway/garage and really cant see much other than a BMW M vehicle or CTS-V making its way into my stable.

About decade or so ago, wife and I test drove a 100 series, when our kids were little. Back then I could not convince Mrs to buy LC100. We bought our first 7 seater SUV 2007 MB GL450. After 7 years of owning it, we traded it in for a new 2013 LC200. I was not ready to foot the expensive repair bills of MB. We are very impressed with Land Cruiser and have wheeled in Ouray Co in its stock form. We couldn't be happier with our choice of land cruiser. Most people don't even know it is a land cruiser. This thing is a beast.

My wife is an Escalade fan. While they are extremely comfortable and have made a lot of progress over the last 10 years. The quality just isn't on par with Toyota. I'll be very interested to see what she gets next. They quit making the EXT. She rides horses etc so feels she wants a modern day el camino

I briefly considered the LX570 until I found out it wants premium fuel and has a tow rating about 1500 lbs. less than a Cruiser. Those are deal killers. If

I'm convinced that there is literally no difference in fuel requirements between the 570 and LC 200. LC says 87 octane where the 570 says 91...but if you look at the specs...they claim a couple extra horse power on the 570. I suspect this is simply due to better gas.

The engines themselves? The same 5.7... My theory is...they figure luxury-minded folk somehow "FEEEEL" better that they are "required" to buy premium fuel.

As for me in my 200? -I put premium in it anyway...and I'd wager that this closes the tiny spec gap between the 570 and 200.

Anyone have actually proof of the above?
I don't "know" this to be true... Just a hunch...

I think there's a difference in fuel pump and injectors. Need to double check on p/n's

You may be right. Tune may be different in LX and LC.

Actually all p/n check out the same, injectors, coils everything. I'm sure someone tokd ne there was a difference in the feul system and it had a higher pressure guess it was all bs

You have two kids ?

I have been thinking of a 200 as we will have three young kids by next year

But every time tells me either get a sequoia or an odyssey

As the Lc doesn't have the room behind the third row that is needed for family of 3 kids

So remove ONE of the 3rd row seats. Voila! Plenty of room for the 3 kids to sit...and fully half of the rear compartment with only a single seat back there.

No need to remove anything you guys are looking at the wrong land cruiser... The perfect kid hauler, grocery getter and camper exists and is a land cruiser

If you're planning on an army of kids, no worries! Get the troopy, fits 8 in the rear and all their crap goes in the middle or under the seats.

EVERYONE knows the 200 is not an inexpensive vehicle. Everyone.
