What kind? I've been reading about it for a couple of days. I think I need to try a better food for my pup. He doesn't have a very strong stomach.

we got our dog when she was a year and half, she's 13 now. She must have had a fxxxed up childhood, she's deathly afraid of brooms still and she won't eat anything except tablescrapes, so that's what she gets.

I have been buying Iam's Smart Puppy for large breeds.

I think I want to change to something different, not that my dogs hate it, they are getting huge and are pretty solidly muscular.

I used to get Natures Choice or something more natural.

I did a bunch of research. I feed my golden Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul Senior. No "filler" or meat by-products like most other foods.
Many people think they're feedin' there dog the "best" food because their vet recommended it or it's "premium" when in reality it is absolute s***. If it has corn meal or meat by-product, you might as well just feed your dog McDonalds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Repost BTW.

McDonald's is probably better for your dog than a lot of foods out there.

I'd feed my dog raw if I had the time and wanted to spend the money to do it. I'm looking for a higher caliber dry dog food currently. Iams is the best that I have fed him to date. Chicken is the main ingredient in it, I believe.

We recently switched our now only and very lonely dog to Costco lamb and rice. He had an issue with very oily skin before. Now it isn't bad. Of course, it doesn't matter now since his Betty Lou is gone. He just lays there sad as ever I have seen him.

Sorry, that sucks. Maybe another dog would help both of you.

I feed my dog Iams large breed for a few years now after stopping eukanuba, basicaly because its the best stuff I can get at the supermarket. i tried some other stuff and found the best way to judge the quality of the food is how much he ****s. I swear he used to go 10 times a day on purina. On the Euk and Iams usually once = less picking up = me happy.

Why did you stop the Euk? I was thinking about trying some of that.

A guy that I know raises hunting dogs and told me that unless the dog runs all day or is some kind of working dog it is no good for their liver. He said he only feeds it to his dogs when they are training. Plus its uber expensive and they dont sell it everywhere. He (my dog) was on it until he was about 2 or 3 maybe thats why hes built like a horse.

I'd guess that he's built like a horse because of his genetics....

You may want to force him to get up and move around or walk him. I've had a dog grieve itself to death after his compadre got killed.

Natural Balance Duck and potato. My Schnauzer has mild food allergies. He doesn't take well to Wheat flour.
