A pair of big white marshmallows who don't know Akitas are supposed to be mean.

In the pics below, he's Cromwell (9 years old) and she's Hannah (4 years old, with the tan shawl over her left shoulder and spots on her back). The pics are a couple years old.

In the past I've had an Akita/Wolf hybrid, a black Lab, a Dalamtian, a couple of Airedales (though to be honest, they were three towns' dogs the way they roamed), and a Belgian Mallinois as a kid.

The Akitas have hands-down been the best dogs I've ever had in the family, with the wolf hybrid being my favorite among them. Calm, intelligent animal without an ounce of aggression but would defend to the death. Great dog. The current two are more fun to have around though. Way more playful.

Wow, I though one high energy dog was a lot of work.

Grizz, our Vizsla/lab mix.

A fine looking hound! Our visla Marco, is not that high energy...But the GSP, Misty, well, lets just say don't pick up a ball or your arm will be very tired!

We found Marco at the local pound, a purebred stray that was adopted and returned 2 times as being to mean and hyper. Not even close, he's a great hound, gentle and mellow.

Grizz was a pound find as well, had him just over three years now, had to pack 30 lbs on to him from when we got him to the shape he's in now. He's just starting to mellow out but still has an endless supply of energy.

Queensland Heeler

Indy (6 months here), at the skatepark with me while we were building some of the obstacles. It was about midnight and she ended up falling asleep in my tool bag.

My 2. kinda a weird combo, but it works. They both keep each other in shape.

Rhodesian (Male) & Alaskan Husky (Female)
