What i've found is winter is the best time to get stuff fabricated.. Too many things happening in Summer... expos /summits/vacations...these shops dont have huge assembly lines and hundreds of workers... being self employed i understand the logistics of trying to wear all the hats at once

I started buying and planning a whole year before i actually expected to get finished with my build. Its the price one has to expect when it comes to cool custom things you cannot buy from amazon.

Ive had no problems with metal tech. Keep in mind its summer, everyone is out on the trails at expos and etc.

@Kelevra I can't believe the obvious question hasn't been asked. Who have you tried, and who's giving you the run around ?

OK, First, I don't live on the mainland much of the year. This started back in April, I started looking at builders knowing I would be here with the GX on the mainland. I made a list and started contacting them in May. Ultimately , it is going to reside at our ranch down in Tucson, AZ.
I figured several months would be enough to get a good start on certain items.

I would rather take the high road and not call businesses out, by name. However, they are major players in the business. Rack builders, Slider builders, Bumpers, Front and Rear, Shock set ups, UCA's. Many were companies recommended here and on GXOR.

After I posted up my frustration , I was able to get a great set of sliders from a small company and a great roof rack that puts some of the others to shame.

I prefer attention to detail and perfection. I am a fan of the small guy doing a good job, rather a production company getting through the day. Most of the products are a little rough for my taste. I was ready to use a few of the venders. On their webpage or facebook, they ask to contact them first. Or, check wit them on a timeframe. I always did what was asked and waited sometimes weeks or longer for a reply. Some have still not replied.

I am weird in the fact that if they can't respond in a timely manner or are rude, I will not do business. What if there is an issue or missing parts, (which comes up often here and GXOR).

I have done well on sourcing small items, Shocks, Coils, fridge, Motor parts. Amazon is great and Ebay is up there on some things.

I am getting close, I want the rims from Tandem but they are out of stock for a month or so. I need front and rear bumpers. I think I have a great company. We will talk 15 Aug.

I am not as frustrated as I was. Thanks for letting me vent.

I hear you, I have a buddy that I helped him build his 80 and he had almost no patients for companies to get back to him. If they didn’t get back to him that week he was on to the next one. And these companies should know that there are people like this. But if they are sitting so pretty that they can afford to lose this business then I wish them continued success because they will need it.

Glad to hear you are finally getting parts you need from other companies.

Thanks! Yes, I am fine with them being busy, Just say so. I do not have time to wait a few weeks to be told there is a wait. I move on. I was very fortunate in that a couple of fabricators contacted me. I bought all they had. I am much less frustrated than I was.
Also, most of the bumpers look horrible, finish wise. I was able to source a great fabricator who cares about his product. I am buying both from him.
