Thought I would try something comletely different and use tires with actual tread on them to wheel and drive around on. :flipoff2: Took awhile to kill the old ones completely but got new shoes and love them. 315's rock, literally on Mon the 9th. :grinpimp: Sorry for the poser shot.
Mud size 2.webp

I like the wheels.... :)

muy bueno! I love the look, can't wait to hear how you like driving up the mountain on the 9th with those 4.11s. Your patience has paid off. Where did you get them? did you get a great deal?

Thanks, they are the perfect wheel. Smooth, no nooks or crannies to clean and they hide brake dust and only need to be cleaned about every 6 mo or so. :D

The drive won't be too bad. I drove a 22RE with 33's and 4.10's up the mountain for years before I got to the gears. The 1FZ FE will be a rocket by comparison. It is really not as bad as I thought it would be. Gears are definitely in my future though.

Got a smoking deal since our race team is sponsored by BFG. ;) Now I just have to figure out where to put the spare.

On your newly purchased Slee Rear Bumper?

Mo she looks sweet!!! I know you have been waiting very patiently for these. I know I have 37 inch Krawlers sitting here but dam my 35's BFG's have yet to let me down on the trail. I go everywhere with them and have never even needed to ask for a strap. Happy for you Mo. What are you doing this weekend? Are you coming out to EXPO?

Tare

very nice!

oh dear, what have you been smoking... You're showing up Monday right? I've got to see this mysterious set of bfg's... :grinpimp:

Mo - VERY NICE. I'll be interested in your opinion of the 315's with stock gears. My 285's have lots of life left, but 305 or 315's would probably be the next step up. As has been said, you've been very, very patient waiting for these. Nice job.

You know it just so happens I've got EIGHT bfg's sitting behind my garage :hillbilly:  I'm not saying they don't work well but come on - they can only do so much with 6K+ lbs riding on them...AMMO got to see me beach myself on my 315 bfg at's on the "old" entrance to John Bull - not pretty!!!!

MO- like the look but are you required to pay NorCalDoug licensing, copyright or franchising fees? :grinpimp:

I need new tires, and am just about to purchase LT285/75 BFG TA KO's. How are your 295's on the cruiser? Mine is completely stock, no lift. Do you really want to sell your tires, or were you joking with MO?

I was kidding.... but sounds tempting to go up to the next size. My tires have only been mounted for a month... i better keep em a little longer. lol

And I thought fate had smiled upon me... Glad to provide a little levity :) Oh well, I guess I'll be making that trip to the tire store. Has anybody shopped around the best price for BFG's? So far, it looks like America's Tires. That's where I got the 31's for my FJ62.

Would love that but lack the funds at the moment.

Thanks Tare, I was thinking about the Expo but I can't do the walking required right now, soon though.

Thank you much. I have'nt hit major grades yet only around town but they are much better than I anticipated. I am very glad I went with the 315's. They fit the truck proportionally and give good clearance for the axles without overwhelming thier strenght. Assuming your right foot and brain are actually connected of course. :D

LOL No I actually skipped the door portion to avoid said fees and copied AMMO's lines. Now that he is in Hi I should be safe and even "Original" to anone not on the board. :D

Anyone wanna buy my 295's? that looks damn good dude.. i think i need to switch!

What spring config are you running Mo?

Thank you. I think the 295's do look good also but they are just a tiny bit under what I wanted for mine. Especially with the flares off that makes the wheel wells a little bigger. I currently have heavies front and rear with 1" spacer in the front.

They have always had good prices and will match non internet only prices as well. I have been closely watching tire prices for awhile lately and have noticed some pretty big fluctuations in pricing on the same tire month to month. Might check out Four Wheel Parts as they match prices also and have been on the low end as well.

Maybe Brent will sell you his 285 Revo's and step up. :flipoff2:

I too can get some BFG's through my friends race team for a steal but I want MT's and I hear that they don't cut it in the sand and snow. I plan on taking my rig to Mammoth 3x's and probably Bear Mt. this winter and so I am considering the Cooper STT's. Oh and I will probably stay at 285's because that grade outside of Bishop will work the rig enough without 315's

True the BFG MT's are not the best in sand or snow. I ran them for many years on a previous rig and they move around alot. If you are set on Muds the Coopers are a good choice. They have alot of siping which really helps in the cold stuff. FWIW Cooper one of the biggest tire manufacturers in the US and they make tires for many other companys that they won't specifically name. Their quality is very good and the muds you mention the STT's I think is VERY similar to the TOYO Open Country Mt's so who knows. ;) BFG is redesigning the MT's but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I plan on doing the gears in the future but if you don't want to you would be wise to stay with the 285's.
