I'm putting the tupperware back into my truck after some work, and found this wire hanging down that is normally covered by the door frame / footrest plastic on the passenger side. Looking at the picture, does not appear to be OEM, but I am the second owner of this truck and have had it since 2010. Previous owner did not mod the truck to the best of my knowledge.

I thought it was power for the HVAC fan, but that is different than what I see on my 96 LX450.

Any other ideas?

You already know this, so please don't take the question as smart assery - it isn't. Have your checked all of the switches, relays, etc., up under that ps kick panel to make sure that everything is plugged in/hooked up as it should be? I've got a '94 and am not sure what year your rig is.

I parted out a '97 recently. If you want, I can check all of the things that I pulled from the ps kick panel to see if that plug looks like it would fit.

What year is your truck?

Hmmm, two conductors... One thing you could try is grab a multimeter and see if either of them has 12v+ (try it with key off and key on) or continuity with a known good ground. It might be power and ground for some random accessory that's no longer installed.

Oh, one shot in the dark that occurs to me... glove box light?

Does the connector have any numbers molded on it?
