Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet

We got the head on today and got stuck staring at the motor trying to figure out what wire goes where here as the sun went down. Judging by the diagram, this appears to be the driver's side, back of the motor, and the wire appears to be a ground. But we couldn't find a spare threaded hole. Does anyone know?

Thanks much if so.

What year / engine are we talking about?

I think you've nailed it. I'm working on a 96, and the FSM I'm using is titled 1FZ-FE 1992 1FZ-F engine RM321E.pdf. And I really can't find any sort of attachment point for a wire on the head in that location.

It looks to be a ground wire, which would attach to the back of the engine head where the hoist hook goes.

The ground on the LH (driver side, US) will actually go to the back of the intake manifold. There is a machined boss with a threaded hole for the LH ground.

The one on the RH side (passenger side, US) goes from the firewall to the head where the engine hook is located.
