what is rattling? (1 Viewer)

I am getting a rattle from the ds front when engine braking. I only hear it with my window open in an u/g parking lot or when passing a wall and only when I take my foot off the gas. It is metallic and sounds little like the loose heat shield on the tailpipe sound only it is definitely on the other side of the truck and is it is more a tap a tap a tap a sound. I have looked but can't see anything obvious.

Since you are running the 100 pads, could it be the pads without the anti squeal shims installed? Probably not from the desciption but maybe try tapping slightly on the brake to check.

could it be the birf - tap, tap, ie click, click?

only seems to happen when going straight so not birfs. does not sound like the pads but could be the metal sporing doohickey on the outside of the caliper is loose. Thanks for the idea!
