This place is not so hidden anymore, guess i'll share a few.... Dozens of side x sides and campers in every spot. Kind of sucked but there's still room to spread out. The trail up was pretty gnarly. Should be fine for most stock rigs with 4 low

Ajax Lake . Washed out bridge up top. I think I would have scraped pretty bad but a better built rig could handle it. I called it quits at the base of the lake.

We spent 4 nights there 4th of July weekend. Big drift just before the lake stopped us and broke a winch line. Camped by the river a half mile before ajax. It was way less traffic the anything around bozeman.
Interesting tid bit; Hank Williams Jr. Fell off that ridge in the 70's? Lots of broken bones, eyeballs popped out of sockets etc.

Yeah , seems like that's all anyone up there was talking about lol.

Side x Sides and Sprinters are taking over. To each there own, and I really do hope everyone has a chance to get out and explore remote places, but it seems like every spot is taken up. The more these places are shared the more they will get destroyed. Beer cans on side of trail and deep ruts from Side x Sides to name a few things we saw.

Anyway, Time to start parking the truck and hiking into remote places. Seems like everyone we encounter is too lazy to move more than 5 feet from their vehicles so we'll need to go deeper.

And to end my ranting and get back on theme of this forum.....if it wasn't for my cruiser I would never have been able to experience a lot of places we've been.... It really makes you think, like what if I just bought some commuter car instead and never got the cruiser. What a different , sad, and boring life I would have..

Found this hidden gem after wheeling deeper and deeper past the massive RVs. It was great until hunters showed up at 4AM and decided to come to my window to chat lol

IIRC from reading the book back in high school, it happened in the mid to early 80's. A Land Cruiser, possibly an FJ60, climbed out of there to get him medical help and he was amazed at what it did.

Labor day was fun for me. Scouted a new trail near Elkhorn with a couple of frens. had to cut and winch a lot of trees out of the way to make it. Found a hill that i will need to concur in the LX but it was way to wet to attempt. So i guess my name is Tim. Did a pretty sick wheel stand for my Instagram in one of the ruts. Front wheel was only about 5 feet off the ground. Soggy fun times

I honestly don’t really need anything off this. But I was in MT this week and it was available. Was California rig almost entirely. Super clean underneath and in the engine bay. So another 100 I need to pull a few things and scrap.

I bought another 100 today as well. I won’t pick up till next week. But I better leave town again so they stop showing up. Have 4 parts hundreds with the two more I bought this week.

I was contemplating bidding on that one. I've got too much going on right now to deal with another rig in the yard.
you could have stopped by and said hi.

Figured out what's wrong with the new to us 60 series...

Number 1 cylinder. The rod cap and rod had an unscheduled radpid disassembly.

It wasn't today, but yesterday I was in the midst of doing house chores...looked up at the sky, looked at the Runner, looked at my mountain bike, and then I hatched a plan. I had to ride a bit of the Bangtail and so I drove up from Olsen Creek. I am still getting over my cold from last week and didn't want to hack the whole way up from Stone Creek. I love it when a plan comes together.

My bike even got tired

Yesterday reminded me that this is still one of my happy places in Montana.....

Love the bangtails. So close, yet you feel far when you’re there.

At some point, I need to do a full write up, but this can be TLDR/quick overview...So I finally planned the build out for my Tacoma and GFC. I have had it long enough to really vet out what I need for a setup. So earlier this summer I complete phase 1 of the shelving system. The idea here is to keep things light and simple. Just want to be able to have organization and easy to reach. This will take advantage of more vertical space along the back wall. One of my favorite parts is the added tie down points using L-Track. The last picture (taken last night) partially shows phase 2 for a built in Diesel Heater, full ducting system and all! I am not complete with phase 2 but getting close. More to come.

Definitely a problem that runs deep. Got 7 in the garage behind my house. 5 more outside. 12 in the other shop. These are just for parts or looking at / working on when time allows. For something that came up recently had to account for most cars. 36 was the number when we stopped. Didn’t account for a couple other buildings. Only 17 are built on the street rigs. But cruiser hoarders is a thing.

As much as I hate to say it, I’ve moved back to the east coast. Not quite ready to be able to make it work out in Montana the way I had imagined, no doubt I’ll either end up out there in the future or somewhere similar. You guys have been awesome and a great bunch to hang around, wish I discovered the club much sooner but I’m glad I found it eventually. Just finished a short photo book with pictures from the drive out west, staying in Montana and the drive back east. Planning on taking my parents back out there sometime next year.
Thanks again, going to miss you guys,
Ethan

Dark Blue 60 isn't a parts rig by any chance is it? I think this garage is what my wife is afraid of with our cruiser obsession haha
