Not Yota, but I bought this camper, stuck it in the garage, and started gutting it to make it livable. Water damage is a lot worse than initially thought.

PS - Anyone know how to wire a solar panel? I want to either put one on now budget permitting or set everything up for the future but I don’t know squat about it.

@clemson55:

Here is a really good youtube video that does a great job at breaking things down in very simple terms.

@Saul Abel i have the hole saw when you’re ready to drill for the snorkel. I love punching 4” holes into Cruisers!

@clemson55,

There is a lot of info and components in the YouTube video. All you really need is a charge controller (MPPT is best but PWM will work and is much cheaper), batteries, and solar panels. You can install a cutoff switch and fuses as needed.

Thanks for the info, 90wt offered to let me check out his setup too so I think I'll be able to figure this thing out.

Getting the 40 into the garage to do a bit of surgery on the cancer spots today, but started it off by slipping on some ice in my driveway and getting blood all over my pants. I decided to sit on the couch with the dogs and watch TV until my elbow stops throbbing. Probably won't get as much surgery done today as I'd originally planned for.

Sitting on the couch with the dogs watching TV sounds like a good idea after a fall. Is the 40 ok?

I started working on the driver's rear corner which had rusted through at the top of the inner fender. I managed to get a little structure back in there, but my arm got pretty sore. I'm hoping to get the rear sides and corners 80-90% solid over the next couple weekends. I don't ever want it to be fancy, but it’d be nice if it was solid and rust free.

Little suspension update/upgrade time. Factory suspension was clapped out and this new stuff is oh so nice. Just did this yesterday so it will take some time to settle but I’m happy with the results so far. Have an alignment scheduled for Tuesday and then it’s time to do some more clearance work to get the tires to fit a little better

Just Sawzalled off everything behind the muffler on the Pickup. Had some work done several years ago and it appears they used cheap materials. Need recommendations for a muffler shop in Bozeman/Belgrade/Four Corners.

D & B Muffler shop has done some very good work on the exhaust system on the 80. Highly recommended.

Put a sway bar back on the rear of the fjc. And also found perfect place for this in the Lexus

Repaired the driver's seat in the Hundy. Lower seat side bolster leather was shot. Upper seat had a massive tear. Mrs. 90WT is a sewing master.

Thanks @3_puppies for the leather, repurposed from a donor seat. I have the seat foam, frame, and heating element to get back to you if you want it.

Polly's ignition cylinder decided on Monday that I needed to practice my grand theft auto skills... Finally got around to it this afternoon and 17 minutes later and no broken plastic, I was at a point I could start the car lol Definitely need to add in some theft deterrent to both 80s and the 4runner (it's even easier to steal) in some form of kill switch, some RFID something that you have to have to make it start, or something along those lines. Popped a new cylinder in and no more problems

Happy New Year! 80 has been washed, waxed and garaged for winter tweaks and projects before next wheeling season. Sure has been fun wheeling the 80 this year.

Just placed my order for White Knuckle Off Road rock sliders for Cruise Moab. Oh yeah! 8 weeks can't come soon enough.

I LOVE my white knuckle sliders on my 80. 3 Rubicon trips, bunch of Moab and Colorado... There is no powder coat left on the underside. She is a thrashed 80 and the rockers are beautiful! Great purchase, I can't imagine the taco sliders will be any different
