It took me a lot of convincing myself to finally pull the trigger. I don't know how many times I put them in the shopping cart and then closed the page. It's funny, the Orion was an easy decision, but for some reason, the longs were tough. I finally convinced myself that they are absolutely worth the peace of mind that I won't be worried about locking the front diff more often. Of course, now I will have to beef up the front axle housing. I also decided I didn't want to have to tear the knuckles apart again when I get my 37's later in the year. They sure are pretty as well. They were probably the best packed product I've ever gotten.
And, actually, the fact that I don't have to grind in the knuckle housing since these are the same size as 60 birds and later model 40 housings are just like the 60's sealed the deal.

Drive shaft bolts.

Saw some pix of your thirds too.

So what breaks next if birfs don't snap?

Typically, it is like Jakes said, ds bolts. I think I'm pretty hardened to breakage and I'm not to aggressive with the skinny pedal.

The skinny pedals the key. Or the lack there of the scinny pedel.
I think you'll be good Stump untill you start fealing frisky!
But those Longs are the s***!

Got it all buttoned up and test drove it. Everything checks good. Lockers work and gears are quiet. Now for a quick wash and tidy up and I'll be ready for GSMTR!
