i thought the marker light goes in front of the emblem so what goes where the holes are behind the emblem?????????????????????????????????? plus theres no hole for the wires

I'm not sure what year your truck is, but on the later trucks ('76 or later) the bolt holding the marker light onto the fender is hollow and the wiring runs through it so there is no extra hole for the wiring. I don't know what the other holes are for.

yes it is for a reflector. so that means theres no marker light that goes there since theres no hole in front of the emblem ok fine

If you mean the two holes to the rear of the Toyota emblem, almost to the end of the apron, I think those are non-stock holes. I've never seen them before.

those holse are not stock for a 1970. early cruisers had front side marker lights and later cruisers did not. Looks lik eyou have a late style apron and some holes that aren't supposed to be there.

If i were you i would think about what alkarich said, you could have a really early style apron, i would do some research before you go any further though. good luck

Is your 40 pre 10/'69? If so it looks like your aprons are correct. Post 10/69 rigs have the lights on the apron. Another difference is your running lights are on the lower part of your bib. Also post 10/69's don't have the lights on the bib. So it looks like all your front end body parts match so to speak. Alan.

Alkarich is correct about the reflectors. And as the SOR pics show. Here is a pic of my 68 in the early years, you can see the reflectors on the apron and on the rear.

1958-10/69 FJ40 -- Front
The front reflector was a 68 and part of 69 thing. The back had different ones during the early some of which were made in the US reflectors added at the port. All pre 68 model front reflectors I've seen were aftermarket add-ons. Those 68/69 front reflectors also had a rubber spacer that made the reflector straight with the side of the vehicle not angled like the apron.
