I am planning on extending my wheel base on one of my BJs and need some help from those who have extended their wheel base.
My BJs are all 1981-1983 so they have the Ebrake cable to the rear drums, just did a ebrake on one of them so I know there is no slack on the cable for any extension.
I was thinking maybe a 60 series cable may work depending on how far I take the axles back.
At this point I am not sure how far back I will go,I may end up adding to the frame to go 110 but not sure yet until I pull the tub off and do a mockup.
Any suggestions on what cable would work....not interested on going to rotors would like to stay with the drums to keep cost down on this project.
Anyone know what the length on a Troopie cable is.

Thanks D'Animal I was hoping you would chime in on this one since you have a 120 WB wasn't sure if you had switched to disc on the rear.

I switched from the dash mount FJ40 e-brake handle that originally connected to the T-case E-brake to the floor mounted FJ 60 E-brake handle. My Orion 4:1 HD has no provisios for the T-case mounted e-brake. I used the FJ 60 axles so the factory e-brake hardware was already on it.

After spending 6 hours mocking everything up from cable routing to handle locations etc, I found that I need an FJ 60 cable that was 17" longer than stock. I started laughing at the fact I waisted 5 1/2 hour just to figure that out. I sent California Push Pull my FJ60 cable and told them I needed one just like it but 17" longer.

I sent it on a monday and got it back the following tuesday.

It sure becomes alot of problem solving and customizing when it comes down to modifying our Cruisers from their original state....but it is the uncharted territory that makes us more knowledgable of the do's and don't and what I would do different if I had to do it again.
Nice work on your Xtended cab D'Animal it is obvious you have done alot of thinking, trial and error and researching on this build.
