I tore into the e-brake today. ALl components were in good working order, but still it does not work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adjusted the tunbuckle and started to rub, but no positive stoping of the rear wheels. What else can I do here?

Tranny hump gasket in and everything is ready for inspection except the ebrake. It sort of works. I've got the front of the rear dshaft off but don't quite have enough room to get it off the studs. problem is 3 fo the 4 rear bolts are stuck fast so I can't get the dshaft off.

Is it possible to adjust it without opening it all up?? Headed back out soon to try to bolts again, I've been soaking them in Liquid Wrench for days and days but only 1 has come loose.

As of Sunday evening at 8:45pm my truck is still a**-end up while I'm finishing up fabricating and installing a replacement for the driver's side upper shock mount and tube in my 85FJ60...

ok..... did some MUD digging and found out about the 10MM adjusting nut ont eh back of the drum (faces the engine) Tightened it up and it works! :) Holds tight with about 5 clicks of the ebrake handle, lets go completely.

I'll be calling around tomorrow to find a place to do the exhaust work (minor) and inspect it hopefully Tues or Wed. Monday night I'll take it for spin around the neighborhood (too late now, too loud), double check all the lights and such again, and with any luck, be legal by Fall Gathering! :)

Just discovered today by chance my rear ARB blue line was completely melted in half! Yikes! Thank God I had some extra! All is well!

Took my truck for a couple rips around the industrail park the other night, runs good! I need a new belt for hydro pump setup as the new cluch is a bit smaller than the old one. I also need to check flex with the bobcat for contct with the fenders may need a bit more trimming :D

Did some food shoping and checking of camping gear... So excited its rediculous...
:)

I have never been loaded up and ready to go so early.................. :D

Making sure I've got everyone's junk, my junk, went food shopping this morning....even threw in some stuff to swap/sell.

Load up my tools / spares, study and print some trail maps, pick up my dad, and I'm on the road Thursday morning. :bounce:

I have been ironing out some issues with the rear disks, finally got that worked out.

I measured and adjusted the toe in, it was to the "out" about one inch, got it "in" about a 1/4 inch, holy cow...sooo much better handling. Measured my caser angle, it is 4deg., gonna order some shims and try to get those in after the FG.

Did a bunch of stuff last week. Its mostly packed. Got the oil changed at my buddy work so he could sneak it in and mount and balance the tires for me. Now I am having a problem with it leaking around the oil drain plug a decent amount. On Friday when I get back I need to pull the plug and use a little rtv for now.

pull plug, drain oil into clean bucket, and get a new copper washer for the plug.

Hook up arb locker & compressor, install gas tank, make a tranny hump, check levels- a few late ones coming up

Dammmm

My tranny stopped working. I just put a tH350 in, and it ran fine for a few hundred miles. It had been sitting empty of fluid for about eight years, before I put it behind a freshly rebuilt 400ci sbc. Repair parts were overnited, so their is still some hope. Just not much hope.

Hope so, that's a 40 I'd like to see again, this time moving under it's own power.
:frown:

So it turns out that VT wants you to have cats.... no exceptions, even for old vehicles tht never had them.

So I need to go ahead and have the exhaust redone, which I had planed to do, and need to do as it's hung badly and very poorly routed. I'm bummed but that's that, if I had finished the truck earlier this wouldn't be a problem but I didn't so that's that.

They recommended a custom exhaust place in Claremont so I'll get it to them next week and get it all redone right and be good. This will give me time to deal with a few other little issues and tuneup stuff as well.

:( {sigh}

So it looks like what I need to "do" before FG is rent a minivan to get all this stuff down there... and maybe sleep in. :(

Dave, I'd get a second opinion on that before you spend a ton of money. Unless you're in a catch with the engine swap (newer motor requiring the same year emissions) I haven't heard of any state doing being able to require an "upgrade", even with safety items.

too late, need to go to plan b and deal with the pig later. too many other things to stress about this weekend.

At this point, I'm out of time. This is what I get for pushing it until the last minute... it's my own fault. I want/need a new exhaust anyway so might as well do it up right and as green as possible anyway.
