CruisinTiger said:Ok I feed my 5yr old lab Purina adult. I got him from the pound in February this year. Feed him 4 cups a day. He has been shedding for a few weeks now. But his shedding is kinda weird to me anyhow. right around his tail and hind legs quarters I can "pull" tufts of hair off of him. Now he isn't bald in those spots, is this just his undercoat from the winter comin off like mad? Or I have heard some dog foods help with their coat. Is the purina dog food affecting his coat or is it just shedding time and is that a normal way for dogs to shed. Also another question I bought him a thick collar...well the vet told me 2 fingers under it and that is good. Well it rubbed him raw under there...luckily I caught it before it got real bad. I am gonig to get him another collar but wonderin what you guys use. was thinkin a chain one that cinches on itself when you walk him. Not for punishment type but that it would be loose while he was off a leash and then while he was on one it would be loose unless he decided to run forward. Thanks a bunch
BOUNDER said:No, no no on the cinching collar - NO!!!! Use a nice harness with at least 1" wide straps. My Lab has an entire hand between her neck and her collar. I also trained her off-leash. Teach your dog - take the time -they are very bright and will learn fast - you'll have an awesome dog. And for the record, Labs always are shedding (Labs have a double coat fyi - they never really get wet) - just brush him occasionally and broom, vaccum the rest off the floor. Check for fleas around the (otter) tail area - could be a slight infestation. 4 cups a day? Sounds like to much - waaaay to much. How active are you? I feed mine 2 cups am & 1 cup pm. Iam's since birth - large breed formula. Labs - most awesome dogs in the world. Good luck.
CruisinTiger said:Are you talkin the harness that goes around under his legs and the leash hooks on over his back? Only was considering the cinch collar so that when he wasn't on leash it was totally loose. Is your hand flat or in a "fist" to slide under his collar? The Vet told me 2 fingers would be fine but obviously not. PLus I think he has a little somethin in him..seems to have a double chin or 2...but he is not fat...just extra skin. As far as the food amount...the vet was feeding him 5-6 cups a day. A local tech school had him for a month in there vet technical class. He is "thin" lab. Not overweight by anymeans. So the 4 cups seems fine for him.
Go to a doctor. Have him/her find out why your sperm count is low. Take a pill or two, and have a real baby. This is not healthy!erics_bruisers said:finally --
