What Do I Need to Do After Lifting My GX460? (1 Viewer)

Even if UCA's aren't strictly needed, they improve safety (better alignment), improve droop (no banging on springs), and provide brand new bushings and ball joints. They're easy to do if you're already doing the suspension. Only downside is cost.

I went through this process with my previous FJ Cruiser, which has the same suspension. As mentioned by others, it drove acceptably with stock UCAs, but it tracked and drove better with aftermarket UCAs to bring back caster.

There are many choices, but I'm a fan of the engineering and adjustability of the SPC UCAs.

After a couple days of freeway driving… I’m not sure I can tell the difference. It feels a bit less “heavy”. I might have to drive a stock GX on the same day to really tell the difference. It might also be becuase Im not totally used to the rest of the suspension changes yet and thats masking the loss of stability, but if so, its definitely safe… I mean, it still drives much straighter than a Jeep ; )

This was the before and after for me with stock UCA. Firestone did the first alignment after the lift and basically said they couldn’t adjust the caster. This was very twitchy at high speeds.
Lexus dealership listened to my needs and did what I asked the second time around. They pushed the caster as far as they could and still kept the camber in line. It drives great and my tires are wearing evenly after about 12k miles. This is a 2” lift. I think I’d have to have aftermarket UCA if my lift was any greater.
