I put 4 new toyota shocks on my 96 80 series as well as new swaybar bushings and a new rubber hose that goes from the air filter to the throttle body

shocks had some little bit of life left in them but the bushings were completely shot.... rides so much better now

thanks to Rick Arflin at Ralph Hayes Toyota for hooking me up....

also have the axle seal kits and new front rotor (and 100 series brake pads) but waiting to do that for a while yet

need to also get new caliper seal / rebuild kits for the front (and rear - might as well while im at it) brakes
 
Took both my girls for separate rides in the Cruiser to run errands. Sat them in the front seat (buckled into a car seat of course). Saw the sheer joy of the spending time with Daddy in the Cruiser. Best memory of the Cruiser yet...

Finally fixed the Carb Fan on my 40

After 6 years, finally got around to fixing the Carb fan on my 40. Cost? 90 cents for a new 5 amp fuse.
 
moved the 40 and 76 chassis to their new home--- my carport at my new rental house, beater parts 60 (for sale) got moved to a friends house, finished rebuild on other 60 front axle, bought tre kits for 60 and 62, should have them installed this weekend
 
I got my new sliders installed on the rig. We are ready to roll. Minus a legit NC tag...........

Daily drove the FJ60 this week. Realized I had a bad vibration at highway speeds. Remembered to check my driveshaft alignment (never rechecked after my t-case build over a year and half ago), realigned it this morning. 90% of the vibration is gone! Why did I wait so long?
 
I got an alignment and I suspect that the it is not correct (too much caster?) Now my front passenger tire rubs the back of the wheel well on the slightest deflection upward, not happy about that. :( Going to try another alignment shop and see what they say.
 
Check engine light came on in the 100 last night. Do y'all keep code readers in your tool box or just stop by the shop and have them read it? I suppose most parts stores would read it for you...

If I were to buy one, what's the benefit of haveing one that's $200 over $50? I can't figure I would need an expensive one. Any thoughts?

Scangauge II, best money I have spent, reads them on the fly and you get waaaaay more info than you would ever need from your car. Def worth the price though...

I love having all that data in front of me. Tracks mileage, shows real time air/water temp. Can correctly read your MPH with non-stock tire sizes(need GPS to set it though).

I used mine especially when I had overheating issues (was mud related). But it gave me a better indication of when temps were rising than the needle on the dash did.

I'm assuming the instructions will tell me how to do all these things? I'm not good at "figuring it out" but I can follow directions...most of the time.

You probably just joined the club of replacing O2 sensors.
 
Yep. Replaced the passenger side front back in november. This one is drivers front. Not a big deal. Had the wife stop by autozone to have the code read. Ordered a Denso from amazon.

It would be really nice to put the scangauge on the 62...it would probably help with lots of issues. I guess I'll just keep counting blinks though.
 
Got 15 mpg in the 60 on my daily driving, then took it fishing and light expedition wheeling on Saturday. :bounce:
