I would be interested in seeing how it works. I don't see wax lube in the pedal bike world much. I used wax all the time in off-road moto but more for the o-ring chain. Not sure how well it would work on the MTB world.
Chain wax has been somewhat common in the road/criterium/track/MTB/DH/XC/trail/enduro/…. Circles I’ve been in for the last >40 years. I think it is a way more common practice in dry dusty regions.

It extends the life of your drivetrain exponentially! I have a buddy with around 10k miles on his Durace drivetrain, yes even the cassette and chain.

10k miles on the chain and cassette? That’s impressive. My riding mtb in New England woods yields about 400 miles before serious chain stretch, and if I’m lucky, maybe 900 miles on the cassette.

Woods really wear the crap out of a drivetrain vs. smooth roadie spinning.

That is on his gravel bike. I get 2-3k miles out of a chain+cassette on out endure/trail bikes here in Alaska, my daughter is at >3500 miles on her 4th season on her SLX drivetrain on her enduro race bike (salsa rustler), I’m at season 4 and ~2500 miles on the sram x01 on my Kona process. We only have a ~4 month MTB season where I am in Alaska. I use wax.

my proper length headset bolt came finally. now i can use my fun cap again!

like cruisers its the little things!!

Last ride trip I focused on the downhill part a bit more that usual. Had a bit of an issue with oil seepage in the push forks. Took the bike in as I loaded it last ride to the push shop, 5 minutes away from the house. Darin the owner actually came out and immediately jumped on the 150 and wanted me to leave it at the shop. Top notch ownership and follow up. He decided to replace the entire inner stanchions and seals. This weekend I have 3 rides planned if all goes well with an epic downhill into steamboat and will beat the shiat out of the forks and bike once again if the weather holds up….
Hoping for the best and will stand by this company and their products. Loving the ride and especially the lack of arm pump they are gifting me with so far! Best part is they are engineered, owned and manufactured in the U.S.A! Support your local businesses in the bike world people it is well worth the investment….

put my road bike up for sale. Time for me to move on. Drivers in my area and assholes and will run you over or off the road. Tired of almost losing my life on a ride. Going back to mountain biking.

Anyway, sorry for the plug but my Trek Dommane S is for sale.

Excellent choice! Nothing against the road guys but I don't get the need to put your life on the line trusting the fools out on the roads. Trying to not be political but the number of illegal's with no license, no insurance and no care= no asphalt for me! I would rather gamble my life with my own foolish choices, not others.

Been beating the crap out of the bike last few months with a lot of downhill so working on to upgrade a few more things so I can transition parts to a new frame in a year or two. The brakes did ok on the last hell ride but I’m pretty confident that meh will be a thing of the past now. She is getting heavy but I’m not setting records going up anyway lol MT7’s and 220/203’s🤤

Mike, I hear you and to be honest, not being political, I find that most of the issues locally are of white dudes in big trucks that try to smoke you out with their exhaust or just run you off the road. It's very sad and total BS. But like a good friend of me told me early in my riding career, you will never win that fight on your bike in the end, so just let it go.

My two instances where I was hit by a car on my road bike: first was an ambulance (yes, ironic), it was during a road race, their side mirror clipped my shoulder. Second one was a lawyer in a brand new Porsche, he made a right on red, without stopping and t-boned me. I only know he was a lawyer as he tried to sue me for damages to his car…. Luckily traffic cameras caught the whole thing.

What I’m getting as is neither were illegals or uninsured. Both instances were brushing and road rash, both my bike was damaged, #1 was almost a complete loss, only was able to salvage stem, bars, crank, and pedals. #2 folded both wheels. Neither one did I get any reimbursement/compensation. #2 was in early 2000 and after that I haven’t owned a road bike since.

So true, they are probably the other 50%, I just live in an agricultural area so see a mix of both.

Nice! I’m a bit bummed I didn’t keep it local and owned in USA but I decided to add a bit of fahrvergnugen to the YETI. Rotors are beefy and heavy but I read they dissipate heat well. 203 vs.220. Building a tank!

Decided to flop the R/F to match the dust bike and next ICE moto on the horizon. Worked great today and no mishaps. Give it a few rides and won’t even need to think about it. Rear left/ front right.

Mounted up and ready to go. Even paid a stupid price on a 1” plastic ring to match the PUSH forks. I wasn’t feeling the orange.

Maguras don't get the respect they deserve here in the US. I have Shimano XTs on my Niner hardtail (now my son's bike), and they are fantastic, but the MT-7s I have on my other Hardtail are insanely good, and you really hear next to nothing about them.

Magura also developed the brakes Campagnolo uses on their road groupsets, and I have those on two bikes (soon a third). They are the best road discs I've ever used.
