What Did You Do With Your 120 Today? (4 Viewers)

I haven’t done much to the GX in a while, but recently ordered and received my Hefty Fabworks aluminum front bumper. Along with that I did a transmission filter and 12 quart fluid exchange along with an upgraded trans cooler from Hayden #678. I mounted it with a bracket kit from Kaon (Australia Co) that they list for the Prado 120. While the brackets work, they are designed for a smaller cooler then the Hayden 678 I used. I had to use some spacers on the top two bolts and take off the lower bracket that holds the condenser line in order to get it to fit. I can probably get one of the horns in it’s original location but the other one will have to be relocated, thinking about changing the horns to something smaller and easier to mount elsewhere.

I also installed a Smittybilt X2O 10k winch, but need to relocate the power source under the hood. Baja Squadron fog lights also installed. I did take advantage of a sale through Bell Lexus of Arizona and ordered a new set of Oem sport headlights, to replace my original and very yellow and cracked headlights. What a difference 👍🏻

How do you like those Goodyears? Been happy with the duratracs I've got right now but considering something just slightly less aggressive on the next set.

Happy with them, but don’t have another AT tire to compare them to. Had about 3 punctures over the 3.5 years I had them. They were new on my 21 GMC 1500 4WD 3.0 diesel. Dry grip is great and they howl before breaking completely loose at normal inflation pressure. Rain traction is ok and again break loose slowly. Snow traction was good. MAX PSI is 51 and they tow decent.

I found a razor in my ebay tire today which was causing a slow leak. Dropped it off at Americas/Discount Tire for a repair. They can’t deny their special Goodyear. So they are soft, light, and pretty quiet for an AT. MPG is not affected much.

Figured out the hard way why the passenger seat bottom doesn’t tilt.
It was all right there. Dammit.

Also removed the Power Bass 6x9s and replaced the surrounds on the ML 6x9s with Simply Speakers kit. The Power Bass speakers are not a sonic match for the ML sound. Now it sounds much better. No pics but use a narrow wood chisel to clean the old glue and foam.

Coolant drain and fill. I ran an intermediary flush with prestone coolant flush and distilled water then drained that and put in toyota extra long life.

I ran the engine with the defrost and heater on and petcock out for about 45 seconds to let the engine flush all the cleaner out after the water/cleaner cycle. It took about 1.7 jugs to fill it back up and get the reservoir to F afterwards.

Performed new brake bedding/break in. It is now apparent the old calipers were partially seized. Before, drving at highway speeds the vehicle would sometimes not track straight and I had to use too much steering correction. Sometimes when stopping on uneven surfaces I had to hold the steering wheel firmly.

So far that is gone and driving/braking on the highway is relaxing. The remaining slop in the steering is likey steering rack related.

Planned on changing the E brake drum brake hardware kit but when i got into it the hardware was fine and all the pretty colored springs looked fairly new. The star post was simply adjusted way too far in. I noticed because i lightly pulled the bottoms of the pads apart and the star post fell right out.

I would recommend to anyone taking on the job, get the hardware at a local autozone and dont open it until you are sure you need it. Then you can return it easily when you dont end up needing it.

I dialed the star posts out to a point i couldnt get the rotor over them then came back a few clicks until it slid on snugly. I yanked the ebrake handle going in reverse a few times backing down the driveway only because I saw another user say that "sets" it. It stopped the car no problem after the adjustment. Before it was just making a gross clunk sound as the car continued rolling completely unaffected.

Did the rear rotors while I was back there too. The car had a little brake wobble before on the old rusty rear rotors, its smooth as silk now.

Did the fog light mod to let them turn on independently of the low-beams.
