Nice Snork .

Whats the story on your bug shield ? Ive considered one of these myself . Did you bed-line yours ?
The bug shield was on there when I bought it. It's 'smoked' plastic in native form, but I coated it and the fender/plastics with peel-away paint coating. I'm a big fan of both. The bug guard is more useful for rock protection in the mountains when pebbles get kicked up by other cars and trucks on the interstate. It has saved the front of my hood from a lot of dings and rust-inducing chips.

I just raptor lined my hood because of all those rust inducing chips as well as blizzard pearl paint failure . Still considering one of these shields as well . My grill area gets hammered hard where I am .

Did you color match or do something different?

Nope I just used the 2k rattle can white . Doesn’t match at all but it’s so much better than that peeling chipping blizzard pearl. I figure it will eventually be completely lined .

This looks great, nice work! Could you elaborate on how you did the hood? I have a black GX but my hood is a mess. I could be convinced to do something similar.
Also, what's the black plate on the bumper?

Thank you . It’s a fairly easy process . I removed my hood and cleaned it really good with wax and tar remover . Hit it everywhere with 220 grit sandpaper then wiped clean again with same remover . After that I used the upol acid etch primer on any exposed bare metal . Then finally used the upol raptor 2k aerosol to line my hood .

The black plate it something I fabbed up to stiffen the bumper for the lights I had mounted before I lined the bumper . I’ve since made a different one .

Went wheeling some some fairly easy forest roads today with a WJ Grand Cherokee. Pretty cool rigs, I only recently realized they were solid axle and V8 powered. Smaller than a GX and easier to fit down these trails, but my IFS was able to better bomb down the gravel roads :)

I'm organizing a larger group trip on Memorial Day on some other roads in this area. Turns out there are quite a few 4x4 folks down in this part of MO itching to get out and explore.

Southeast Missouri (Iron County). Looks like there are even better trails in SW MO/NW AR.

Installed the Tru-Cool transmission cooler along with a filter change and fluid swap. Messy job, but pretty easy. Had to make custom mounting for the cooler, but it got in there.

Transmission temps staying around 140-150 on the highway in 90 heat. I’ll see how it does once I hook up to the new camper.
