Not technically today but still wanted to share. Took the GX out and ran a 2.5 hour trail with my lady and a good buddy of mine. As a guy that’s mainly had Euro and JDM cars all his life I hate myself for waiting so long to get a rig. What an amazing time and a completely different experience to canyon carving or autocross.

Dorkel is on. Install was easy and fitment/quality seems pretty good. This should cut down on the amount of mud and dirt that finds its way into my airbox.

What was the motivation for the body mounts? I've contemplated this for my setup but admittedly don't know what the real benefit would/should be.

Thx!
I run 35's so the extra clearance is a large reason I did it, but my driver's side mount was pretty mangled after coming down pretty hard onto it off a rock. The bolt was bent and the bushing was torqued for a few months. I had to cut up the bolt/bushing to get it out. After pricing new hardware and bushings, it was cheaper to do the relocation mounts.

Found some metaltech bumpstop extensions locally for 40 bucks so I installed those, thinking I'm probably going to switch bumpstops with my 4th gen 4runner as these extensions are 3" long and paired with the longer GX bumps I've still got another inch of two that I could stuff the rear wheel. Also installed a fumoto oil drain valve, rotated my tires, and hacked up my factory running boards and reinstalled them after my wife's constant complaints that she hates this car because of how tall it is 😂 wasn't ready to buy sliders yet and this didn't cost me anything. I'm actually pretty happy with them, I feel like they tuck up pretty good without all the plastic trim on them.

Longer bumpstops are a good thing. Your driveshaft will hit the gas tank skid when you flex the other direction if you stuff too much. It sounds really bad and doesn't feel good. More gains on my TC suspension.
Went full monty on shocks for some ‘luxury pre runner’ gas it up & absorb some bumps action.
But mostly I will trail cruise it with decent articulation.
More for weekend use than ‘adventure’ style.
Cycling at about 11.7” of travel f & r.

Stupid question, but is that a shock + remote reservoir in addition to the coilover with remote reservoir?

Didn’t realize that was even an option.

The coilover is what you see. The second ‘shock’ is a 3 stage bypass shock, with each stage getting stiffer as the shock/suspension compresses. Along with the hydro bumpstops there will never be a harsh bottom out, when setup correctly.
That is in a race environment which my 470 is not in.
Should be overkill in suspension, but arguably the best suspension in the business.
The bypass and coilover each have their own reservoir.
I am building up my GX as a race wannabe pre-runner style vehicle vs an adventure rig…
Less weight adding gear options.

That is one badass suspension setup. Seems like it will make for a comfortable ride.
