If you could paint your cruiser any color, what would you choose. Mine is blue and not that great of shape. I'm wanting a change. Something not factory. The gray interior goes with just about anything. Lets see some pics of different colors.

I'm gonna get me some of dat der invisible paint. :D

white does not get as hot in the sun and hides body work the best.

changing the color will degrease the value of the vehicle. the old color always shows through somewhere (door jams, under hood etc)

1b2, Antique Pearl Sage. About the only thing I didn't like about my 80 when I bought it was that it was boring white. Friend of mine just got a 40th that's that color and I am jealous.

Custom Chameleon paint job - http://www.eliteautobodyfl.com/page3.html but its not cheap. I've seen a chameleon paint job that was cost $17.5K.

Holy Chit!  I didn't know paint jobs could get that spendy except on some collectable Ferrari or something like that. I bet the grocery store door dings get you a little more  then the rest of us. Where is the cost in this? Paint? Labor?

Mr. Slee's yellow looks nice, IMO.

I have a dark green that looks great when clean. I think a lighter color would be my choice. Maybe one of the metallic silver sort of colors to hide the dirt.

OK, I think I've narrowed the choices down to this: 1. Copper/Orange metallic {the color on the Chevy Colorado}with bumpers and sliders the same color. 2. Silver metallic with the bumpers and sliders black. 3. Bright red with bumpers and sliders red also. I'm in the building stages of the bumpers now. Kinda have a Road Armor/Trailready look to them. I really would like to powdercoat the bumpers and sliders. Just depends on color choice. Other goodies include 37x12.50x17 MTRs on beadlocks, fender flares and roof rack removed, 1 1/2" custom body lift. full flat belly skid plate, winches froont and rear, York on-board air and lots of other things. Want it to be a recovery/trail repair rig thats also a daily driver. I'll post pics of the progress. Thanks for any input.

Personally I think that Copper (Burnt Orange) is ugly...of course I hate the University of Texas and almost everyone I see down here has white longhorn sticks on it...go figure..

Now as much as Tucker will disagree with that paragragh....:D

I think a Dune Beige or "tan" would be SWEET! Who has an 80 that color Tucker?

Might have to bust out my photoshop skills :D...

Second vote would be Smurf Blue...first LC I fell in love with was an '83 FJ60 Smurf Blue..

i LOVE the beige. it is awesome looking. i have a 40 in it, and want to pain the 80 that color.

I was wanting to play around with colors, so copied a pic of an 80 and pulled it up in Photoshop, but I dont know how you go about changing the color? I tried selecting an area with the "magic wand" tool and then filling with a color, but that didnt turn out too well. Some of the guys over in the FJ Cruiser forum have been changing it in all kinds of colors.

Thread related : I think an olive colored 80 with black bumpers, sliders, snorkle, roof rack and dark charcoal powder coated wheels would be slick! Thats what I wanted to make in photoshop anyways :)
