What color is my 1971 FJ40? (1 Viewer)

'Just joined IH8MUD.com and am finding a wealth of knowledge from the forum posts. I'd like to start restoring this vehicle and am trying to figure out the paint color. I poked around and found a decent link at Auto Color Library - The World's Largest Online Color-Chip Library.

Could it be "Scanda Blue - 14208" or "Blue Crystal Scandinavian Sky - 8748"? It's definitely a light blue on the lighter side of the blues. Is there any paint color code on the vehicle anywhere?

Does anyone have a similar colored vehicle? What color do you think this is?

Where in N. GA. do you live? I'm up on Lookout Mtn. I have a '72 the same color, PO painted black before I purchased. Try going to CCOT and see if they have the color codes there. It might help.

I checked out the links, and there is a light blue on that looks close, but mine seems to be a shade lighter blue. This could be from fading over 38 years and then there's the computer monitor color issue...

Yours could be that faded. Maybe try some rubbing compund to get the top oxidized layer off?

That's the primer showing through, believe it or not. I'm afraid if I put a polisher to it, more would come off )

Its capri blue - code T310. See this thread here - https://forum.ih8mud.com/paint-body/93601-fj40-color-code-chart.html. Horizontal Blue wasn't offered in 1971.

Capri Blue? Scanda

Thanks for the posts? What year is your Cruiser in the Capri Blue? I checked out Auto Color Library - The World's Largest Online Color-Chip Library and typed in "Toyota" and "1971" and came up with the color charts below.

What do you think of "Scanda Blue" on page 1 and "Blue Crystal Scandinavian Sky" on page 3? I'm only going to paint the exterior, so I'd like to keep it matching the interior and inside the engine compartment, otherwise I'd switch it to one of the cool greens or tans.

Let me know your thoughts!

I bought my Cruiser from him, and his misrpresented the vehicle, lied to me about its condition, and removed parts off of the vehicle after I paid for it and before I had it shipped to me. STAY AWAY from this guy and TELL OTHERS ABOUT HIM. AVOID ANY EBAY SALES WITH HIS NAME ON IT. He goes by the eBay user ID of "coyotepopper." Oh and I forgot to add to my posts, the 4WD (front axles) don't work either.
