Both of the FZJ's I have owned did this. Say you disconnect the battery for some reason then reconnect and for the first 2 or 3 min the idle is super low like 200 RPM it wont die but sounds like it should. Once it idles for a couple mins its back to normal. I am just currious what causes it ?

Interrupting battery power to the EFI computer causes it to lose it's memory. The computer needs to re-learn operating parameters, idle speed being one of them. In short, it's normal to have that happen when you kill the power.

In some cases it will take several engine startup cycles to re-learn the proper idle speed.

I thought about that but needed to hear it. The reason why I question it when I was thinking it is because my FJ60 with a TBI and My FJ40 with a Vortec dont do it. THey dont care if you unplug um. Thanks

Justin

The GM computers are not smart enough to care.........;)

This will happen more with the 91-94 model years with Pre OBDII fuel systems. This should not happen with the 95-97 model years with OBDII. So I did not see what model years you have, so I am more guessing then knowing. later robbie

both of them are 93s
