I wonder if they're wired to come on with the fog lights in other markets like some of the Euro cars (Audi, BMW)

@TeCKis300 hacked one up and looked like it was mean to have a bulb socket in it if I remember correctly.

Here you go...

Was considering scene lights to the rear. Decided to double duty the as delivered passive rear stock fog light elements for rear fogs and rear scene.

Rear fogs as I often traverse the tule fog through the central CA valley where the fog gets thick.

Yes it's red, but that's not a bad thing for nighttime. Separately, was thinking to also double duty the large rear backup lights on the LX for added scene lighting, but I'm getting enough light with just these fog elements.

Adding a socket and bulb to the fully fleshed out except for cut receptacle stock light fixture. 7/8" hole saw. Then dremel for the detail detents.

Or install a rigid compact LED flood onto the lens as an extra backup light. One of the best vehicle mods I've ever done.

Did you write this up? I had some rigid pods I had to a spdt switch in my old truck and loved them. On/off/switch light was awesome! Admittedly, my wiring neatness left a lot to be desired but this capability was great.

I didn't, and to be totally honest I bought the completed housings from @CharlieS .. He may have done a post about them.

I can grab a picture from the outside today.

TBH it all seemed quite simple.. hole saw on the lens, small hole in the back of the housing for the wire, screw the light to the lens and seal the wire through the other hole with RTV.

In my case I wired them to the trailer harness adapter which does have +12v when in reverse, which was the only time I need them illuminated. I know others would want to have more control.. but IMO these being mounted so low makes them annoying as a work or scene light, so I'll just use my hand lights or headlamps for that stuff.

Thanks Charlie. They've held up well.

As of today, with ambient light that really shows off the pearl in my paint:

Yes in ROW the drivers side light is wired as a rear fog light.. I in fact did purchase the JDM LHS Fog light housing as set it up relayed off the front light with an override Off switch. After pulling my original reflector (2020) I saw that the housing actually had the lip and outline of the hole cutout to hold and lock the light in place. I can add photos later if need be.

I want to replace the reflector with LED housing; do I need to remove the rear bumper to remove the housing?

They come out with the bumper skin still on. If you remove the horizontal black plastic cover behind the rear wheel mud guard you can reach up to the inside and loosen a couple 8 or 10mm nuts on each and the housing will pull out.

Sorry to hijack. Whoever needs OEM rear fog lights for 08-15 LC, PM me I have a set. I ordered the wrong one (I have a 16+)😥
