My wife tried to get insurance and wasn't too impressed with gecko. I don't want to think about what they'd tell me it's worth.

Does anybody know a decent company that can give me a "real" value at a decent rate?

Depends on your usage. If you're going to treat it like a collector vehicle go with Hagerty. Doesn't matter if it's running or just in storage.

I've got two insured with them so they are OK with early Cruisers. It took a little convincing with the first one years ago. Agreed value policy ($6k and $8k), insanely cheap. You will need to send them pictures. Patina is OK, mods are not. You will need to lose those mags and put your stock wheels and hubcaps back on.

Based on recent experiences,I would not use Farmers and Progressive. MIke

Mine is from Condon and Skelly. I had to submit pictures of each corner, dash, engine bay and then the vehicle needs to be approved. I havent been approved but my agent says I wont have a problem. I should have cards in a week. He was passing my pictures around to all of the drones in the office. They didnt know what to think of it. Next will be registration, another saga.

Must be garaged. QUOTE]

I just tried to get insured through Hagerty for my 45, 55 and 40...but this killed the deal, fine print says secure-lockable storage.

So I'm still going through Progressive until I can get a garage built.

Oh, and they denied the 45 because it's modified and used 'off-road.'

Insurance and vehicle regulations vary GREATLY state to state. My first attempt to register my wife's 74 Riv GS as a classic was denied in PA because the photo of the rear showed a "Support our Troops'" and a "Army" bumper stickers. (aluminum foil scotch tape and the right lighting took care of that)
But State Farm came in at the same or lower price as several of the "Antique/Collector Car insurance companies. With less questions and more coverage. I have 5 standard vehicles and 2 classics on the same policy.

So who everybody using currently. I just called Condon Skelly and got the sorry we aren't insuring that type of vehicle at this time.

I have the feeling the RI would be a catch. AZ is right next door. I did do a online for Hagerty and it came back at $283. That was with $0 deductable, switched it to $500 and it only dropped $15 a year. At that rate I would have to not have a claim for over 33 years to make it worth adding the $500 deductable. It is funny all they are concerned about is your state not zip code. With regular insurance where the old cruisers are kept the rate are about half of central Phoenix.

time to renew the who's everyone using. because i drive annie on dirt roads apparently hagarty is out.
