Watch out Matt you are in the FZ world now and we know how sensitive they can be.

What is that I hear/see/smell? a #6 blow-by?.....

I see a UZ in my future.

Skip the UZJ and go straight to the 5.7! You will not regret it!

By the time I can afford the 5.7 I won't able to afford the gas.

Slee says a yota 5.7 wouldn't work in an 80. ????

posted with my thumbs.

The UZ I have in mind won't be in an 80 either.

I'm talking a 200! Don't nobody need no tired 80 series! If you wheel a full-bodied 80, the places it can go, then a hunnerd can too! I've wheeled and spotted a 100 series with 80's and they do the same trails... IF you're not wanting body damage. That said, the 200 is more advanced than the hunnerd!

Full bodied wagons don't belong in parks... Or at least with me driving.

The FZJ is a great engine, but the newest one is now a decade and a half old. Unless you know how to massage an engine... it's best to find a rig that's newer and just mod it.
Shunt. In another year, I'm looking to get into a 4x4 Tundra and armor it and wheel it with all the wagons at the cruiser events! Hopefully it will be towing a buggy though! WOOPOW!

Wasn't there a guy on the portal that replaced most of the drive trian of a tundra with that of a cruiser?
Not saying it's something I would want to do but it would be cool to know that if/when something broke you could replace it with a cruiser part.

1fz's are still made overseas for toyotas. You could keep it forever and just source parts from venezuela and Nigeria. Just an idea.

I got a new water pump coming hopefully get it on tomorrow.
I'm thinking about bolting up the fan and driving it with out a shroud for a while to make sure nothing else is wrong.
I straightened out as many fins as I could on the radiator and when I turn the electric fan on I can feel a good bit of air moving.
I'm not sure if the stock fan and shroud will work for me (dang supercharger biting me in the button again).
I know folks have used others (such as Tacoma fans) ; I just need to do some more research to see what will work.
For the long term I will replace the radiator whether it leaks or not (just has too any bent fins).
I already have issues keeping it cool in the summer while wheeling (supercharger).

Any of you fancy 80 guys want to buy a supercharger?

I hear the 3fe fans move more air. I'm sure that makes Eric happy.

I wheeled my 80 for the past 5 years without a shroud! I finally put one on it in May before GSMTR! Yeah wheeling in the summer the temp would rise but not too bad. Buy my wife's 100 and then go from there :)

I sure hope you ain't watching the factory gauge! The FZJ gauge brings the suck, and has proven to not be right even when temps cause HG failure...
