:eek::eek:WOW

that looks pretty cool
looks like a stretched 71 on a 73/4 chassis

I vote for a BJ74

I can't remember where I already see one like that.

It is not very pretty.... in my opinion

Its a SWB 70 series, stretched with an aftermarket door from a dual cab conversion and rudely cut to fit.
Note that it has no fold down windscreen,so its not a 73/74
The sliding windows ,square door frame and cramped fit are a dead giveaway.
I suspect the doors were from a Japanese dual cab fire truck or imported from Australia or South Africa

It still looks as bad as the 1st and 2nd time it was posted:D

Compare the rear doors

71 Because its turbo?
73/4 chassis ?because im thinking the gap at the back of the front door to the rear wheel arch looks about the same as 73/4
Or maybe a truck squashed it from being a 76 ;)

Maybe someone liked the idea of the troopy having a side door and couldnt get a troopy next inline to seide doormod would be the 71 :D

IMO that truck would be so much nicer if instead of cutting in rear doors they stretched the front doors maybe 4- 6 inches (to just ahead of the wheelwell) to allow better access to the rear seat

A streched 70 series body on a MWB chassis would be the easiest way.
Something about the rear quarters give it a mid 90s Disco look:eek:

Hey Rosco,

Is that a picture of your FJ73 in the background in that picture you posted of the yellow dual cab cruiser.

Any more pics or a link to a thread?

Cheers.

Yeah thats my 73.
Pics of my 73 or the yellow dual cab?

Pics of the 73 and if you have 1 of the 1HZ that would be great.

I took my 74 to the local 4x4 mechanic today to get a new clutch put in, bush, bearing and rear seal while their at it. I got a
lift back to work and was talking to the Goerge the machanic and he was saying how good the 1HZ was. He was also saying that
the 13B-T was bulletproof. That was good to hear:)

Looking forward to getting the cruiser back tomorrow morning:bounce:

X2 rosco do you have a build thread of the 73 :D

Its sitting there needing some work, not much, just a handbrake cable, speedo cable and spotlights not working.
I ran out of money during the conversion and used a $200 chinese clutch kit and I think thats on its way to crapping itself after 30000klms
I patched up the seal under the windscreen frame to stop the inside getting wet.
Its seems to have worked but I think the rubber needs replacing.

Apart from that it still has heaps of power and drives really nice. Its quite fast as far as non turbo diesels go;)

Awesome mate,

Thanks for the pics. I'd love to have the skills to attempt an engine conversion like that. The 13B-T isn't giving me any hassles yet. I need a new windscreen frame. One of the next jobs I'll be doing. I think I can handle replacing that on my own though.

Cheers for the pics.

It wasnt hard just expensive, but now with the price of HZJ75 tumbling its just not worth it.
If your 13BT gets tired consider the 14B,15B :D
Or start preparing one for a slow build up;)

I paid just under $700 for the frame from 4WDParts in perth;)
I did find someone with a large range of new 7* series panels and doors over your way but the name escapes me right now. They were a lot cheaper than the dealer

yea these pics rock its so cool to see a hzj73:D in Aus
your 73 looks really really good nik the motor looks so nice and shiny to ,top stuff mate
