Hello
I'm looking
to buy a 100 TLC,read a bout all the model rear AC factory diff lock .....
what year has the less problems and what I do need to check on those years?

thanks

Amit

I really like my 2001 without NAV. Analog HVAC and you can update the stereo head unit to a double din. I compare vs my 07 and really prefer the 01 HVAC controls and the non integrated stereo.

I dislike the factory nav in mine. It's A) clunky compared to a smartphone, B) sticks you with a worse climate control interface, C) sticks you with the stock head unit and D) ugly. Ideally, I'd also like a rear locker, side airbags, 5 speed, non-AHC, LX470 headlights and a Land Cruiser badge. Which year is that?

Ultimately this is like asking what to look for in a spouse. You can tick a bunch of boxes and try to figure out what to look for in a wife while you're just fantasizing, but when push comes to shove you shouldn't turn down the right woman just because she's got the wrong rear end.

Darn, I forgot to check the headlights!

Condition, Value, Maintenance Records. Year is ranked below all of these for me.

everyone knows that the 99's were made for "Y2K"..... when the world was going to end, making it the best vehicle ever........ j/k. No complaints about my 99. a 5 speed tranny would be nice from an 03+, but then your talking a huge price jump there. The climate control on the 99 is simple and you can easily throw in a modern double din radio with blue tooth, nav, rear view cam for under $400 these days
