Wet driver floor, AC drains?

First rainstorm since the repair and the truck is dry. Looks like it’s actually finally over.

For those wondering if the fender has to come off, the repair is visible from inside the engine bay, but I don’t think it’s fixable without removing the fender.

I looked at the other side, there isn’t any sealant factory or otherwise on the inside seam like that. I think the tech brought the bead down a little to improve coverage and make sure it stuck. The factory sealant is on the other side.

Called Toyota, they said they’d never heard of it happening before and have respectfully declined to assist with the cost of repairs.

I can’t exactly blame them but definitely a little sad. The service writer st the dealer who did the repair seemed pretty confident they’d stand behind it.

If anyone ends up having body sealer leaks though, definitely report them. Given the total population of 200s, even if a few have this issue they might look at it more closely.

They also apparently had very few reports of touchy 60022 accelerator peddles. Mine was a nightmare, look at it wrong and it’d send the truck into warp 5 but swapped it out and it was back to normal. He almost seemed shocked

Yeah, very disappointing (and, honestly, surprising) to hear Toyota Customer Care's response - is this the first Toyota vehicle you have owned?

End of the day this appears to be a manufacturing issue - the guy on the line w the caulk gun musta hadda take a pee break when your build passed his station.

Calling Toyota corporate opened up a case with the dealership themselves. They asked to see all of my documentation, and they're sending over a check to cover the water repair, the windshield reseal, AND the busted seat fan (They called back with the resolution about a minute ago).

So Toyota corporate may have had it's hands tied (It happens), but the Dealership did a STAND UP job. (University Toyota in WV, I wouldn't think twice about buying another car from them)

They made me say "I bought a used car with no warranty" over the phone and explained how coming to them with this issue was silly across a well scripted 2min soliloquy. Not entirely pleased with that conversation but again, yes, i did buy a used car with no warranty lol (though he was shocked when I said I wasn't offered a warranty...)

I come from Volvo world so the concept of someone on the line having a bad day is not foreign to me hehe, this whole barrel of shenanigans wouldn't have suprised me in the slightest if it was on my V50.

You know that the dealership isn't eating the full repair, so your call to corporate did work. This is where both corporate and the dealership are between a rock and a hard place - neither wants to say "we'll pay" because that would set a precedence, but both want to do the right thing because you were a pleasant fellow with an unusual problem that clearly wasn't self inflicted. Corporate was hoping that there was nothing in the paperwork that pointed to you and the dealership hoped that Corporate would step up.

It looks like they did.

I've got a wet floor on the driver's side. Can't figure out the origin for the life of me.
Sunroof drains clear and clean, drain quickly to the base and I recently chased them
Cowl drains drain fine

Suspects:
when the AC is on plus cool box, a little water comes over the transmission from the evap coils but it's not as much as I think it should be.
Q: are there more drains other than over the transmission for the AC/cool box? Is there any way to clean those drains from under the car? Water is definitely only coming down from over the trans for the AC.

Suspect 2:
The sunroof seal is sun damaged, it looks like it's shrunken. Is it possible the bad seal overwhelmed the drains?

Before I found the water I did get a car wash, but I found the water halfway through a 15hr road trip through the south. I can't figure out which it is, evap or sunroof...

Things ive done:
Chased drains
Dumped a bucket of water on the sunroof and the windshield with the carpet pulled up (no sign of the source, it's just...wet. )

Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm a bit stumped.

Based on your post I don’t think you have a problem I think you’re going to die of old age before you have any real from the leak problems? Now after reading the rest of this thread I feel like a real dumbass good on you to push the issue I’ll do the same if it ever happens to me. I’m 70 so I’m pretty brain dead but if I do notice a leak I’ll get on it like you did thanks for the post

Glad this worked out well - especially for a first time Toyota customer. As many of you know, calls to corp (with a case number assigned) result with a call from corp to the dealer corp liaison. They then talk about "you"

If you present your argument with grace and documentation and aren't a doosh you'll typically get some relief - especially as many of you have probably experienced with the silly orignial 200 series radiator design.

@JustSomeSheep I Just read your thread. You posted in my facebook post.. I too have a 2013 LC200, that initially I thought that the problem was the air conditioning. I even posted back in May in this thread.

Back then I think I took care of everything, and thought it was all over. Until a couple days the car started to smell bad again. That is when I took the carpet out to pressure wash it, and to verify the source of the leak, it was not until about 3-4 days, that I started having rain here in Tennessee, and sure enough water started to pool back in.

because of work, have not been able to take care of this issue, but I am starting to think that I will find the same problem you have.

It is kind of funny to have 2 cars on the same forum, same year, same mileage, with the same freaking problem. wouldn't that be a blast.

Not that my dealer would take care of this problem for free, lol... My wife has been the only owner of this car. 88 k miles

it would be great if other LC owners would take the fender off to see if they have this issue..

I would let you know once i do it.......
