No way!! I have spoke to him several times. His mother lives right around the corner from me, along with other relatives. Never got to meet him though.

Hello everyone.
This is Catherine, Chris' wife. Thanks for all of the lovely things you said about him here. It really means a lot.
I am so thankful for this thread. I have decided to sell "The Cruiser." I was feeling so worried because I had no idea how to sell it when I couldn't remember in detail all of the things he did to it. This thread will help me immensely.
I have listed it on Craigslist and eBay for $19,999.00. However, I want to consult with you guys to see if this is a fair price, and if anyone here would be interested. I have been offered help by some local guys on looking things over, so I will be doing that, too.
It really breaks my heart to sell it. But the kids and I have decided to move to Michigan and we are in the process of buying a house there. My family is there. It was built for things I won't be able to do there, so I would like someone to get it who can push it to its full potential, and also take proper care of it.
Please let me know your thoughts on the price and if you know of anyone who might be interested. I know there is a thread for sales, so it will be up on that soon.

Catherine, I am so sorry for your loss, really. I lost my dad at 19 and he was 47 and it is tough. I pray for your kids. I wish I was closer but happy to offer any advice via email or phone.
I would suggest you starting a new thread under the 80 series section with all the specific specs of the truck (if you know them) and we can give you a better idea of what the resell should be. Maybe some more pics as well.

The 80 finally made it to it's new home. Catherine thank you for taking care of the 80 for the last 3 years. You did a great job. I wanted to bring this thread back in tribute to Chris. He started this build and I plan to finish it. He was right in the middle of a few interior things, drivetrain items, and some electrical stuff. This 80 was about 80% done and I plan to finish it exactly how Chris envisioned. I will just use his old thread and continue on with it. For the immediate plans there are some 315's (35's) in the garage ready to go on. Sway bar extensions, bump stop extensions, and extended diff breathers are all up next as well. I have a bad rattle from the exhaust coming in contact with the cross member that is driving me nuts so that will be fixed first thing in the morning. Chris gutted the interior and that's about how it sits now. I have a giant pile of interior trim pieces, grab bars, bolts, fasteners, etc. that all need to find there home in the 80. I have a feeling I will be looking for a bunch of interior trim pieces that are missing. Carpet also needs to go back in. Before any of that I need to finish installing the sound deadening mat that Chris was right in the middle of installing when he passed. So let phase 2 of the build begin.

Catherine and the girls seem to be doing surprisingly well when considering what they have been through. I found Chris' old 80 in the 80's for sell section. It was in my budget and built close to what I wanted. Catherine and I had quite a few conversations about the 80, Chris, and what she has been up to over the last few years. I wont get into any personal stuff because I am not sure what Catherine would want me sharing. It was the right price for both of us and I was very honored she was willing to let it go to me. She was great to work with on the purchase and we ran into plenty of issues due to the 2,200 mile gap between us. Shipping sucked but it did eventually find it's way to it's new home. I am happy to be the person to finish what Chris started. It has actually been quite emotional for me to go through this rig. I have come across many things that Chris was right in the middle of working on. It's almost like a time capsule from 3 years ago when he passed. I even came across tools in the rear fenders where he was right in the middle of installing the sound deadening mat. As I finished ripping out the interior today to prep for reinstalling the carpet I came across small items from his daughters throughout the day. As a father of 3 (#4 coming soon) it really hit home that these girls have been riding in this 80 for the last 3 years without their father who built it. Very hard for me to swallow the reality of what I was digging through. Never had a deep emotional experience with a car until today.

As a father of three myself, (12, 10, & 7) I can imagine. My heart sure went out to their little family regularly. Thank you for the update Glad they're doing well. Enjoy your 80 and the emotional extras!!
So the carpet, seat covers, extended bumpstops, and wheel spacers all got delivered today. I also got the seats pulled and finished installing the sound deadening mat. It's now in the walls, doors, and all over the floor. Not really sure what it does but I figured it was 80% done so I might as well finish it up. Also got all the seat belts back in, 3rd row seat brackets installed, and am about 50% done with the carpet install. The rest of the carpet and a mountain of interior trim pieces should go in tomorrow. Hopefully Saturday will be the seats, all the weather stripping, and a few little items. My current driver seat is just crazy safe. Here is how it looked about 2 hours ago. I had a 4 year old helper most of the day.

Nice, low profile lightweight racing seat. I myself learned how to sit on my rear heel for a while moving around the parking lot with no interior for 3 months.
So the seat covers just got installed. They turned out great. I was shocked that some cheapo ebay $42 fabric covers would fit so well. They are supposed to fit a 100 series but the dimensions given were a perfect match to the 80 series seats and not the 100 series so I took the gamble. Install took about 10 minutes per seat. I ran out of the metal clip things that came with them so I had to use zip ties underneath for the last few anchors. They are definitely not high quality. Fabric is pretty thin but for $40 I'm happy. If I can get a few years of use out of them then I'm ecstatic. I may pick up a couple more sets to have on stand by since the price is so good.
