My BJ40 is overseas and forgot to measure the axle tube diameter for the right bracket. I found the plans for the bolt on bracket, which has it at 4" diameter, is this correct? Anyone with install pics or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan

I don't get where the tube diameter comes in to play here....

What am I missing??........

Different bolt mounting configurations I'm aware of but.........?

Post a vendor link to the supplier of such...........

The tube diameter is needed for the bracket, AA-mfg.com makes the weld on brackets. I was looking into these as they are cheaper than the bolt-on setups I have seen.

Never checked out that site before now...... now that I have, NO THANKS!

I got the weld on from AA and found the pita factor too high. I have a 76 and the rear axle has a flange the interferes with the position of the weld on brackets. I got the bolt ons and the put the weld on brackets in the scrap bucket. You can have them for cheap if you want them but not the way I would go.

I have no idea what the AA's cost, but PM me for perhaps a better choice at perhaps the same price???

Thanks for the info, will just go for the bolt on brackets and call it a day. Dan

Get a hold of Poser on here. I have his rear disc brake brackets on 3 of my cruisers. Never any issues and he is a stand up guy.
