The head instructor was an indigenous islander who was the Camp commandant/head instructor. He had worked with MacArthur as a guide in WWII. His nickname was "Gunny"....

Man I bet that dude had some stories to tell.

Army service from 89-91 2nd Armored Div. Ft Hood tx. 1 of i think 4 units from 2nd Armored to be in desert storm. (Division was be disbanded)
I'm the owner of a 1976 fj40 with a chevy 350 transplant and gm 700r4 trans.. so like me It's Asian on the out side but 100% usa on the inside

I was with the 1/158th AVN attached to the 2nd Armor out of Dhaharan in '91.

Thank you for your warm welcomes and all your service to our country.. wb8 I can't remember who it was, but they said if you hyphenate where your from your not a real American .. ie Asian-American. I'm American I just look asian... (I'm also from Seoul Korea.. adopted by Americans)

Hugh... ah. Good Ole dahrane kobar towers and cement city. At the end of desert storm I was there for 3 more months to load all the army's equipment back on the ships.

I think we were the last ones to wear the 2nd as a combat patch..an honor in its self...

The one with the trailer is more recent. This is all I have on my phone. I haven't been out too much with this tank. I recently installed 4.88 gears and lockers. Arb in the front and TJM in the rear. It's a bit over geared for my 315's I am debating what to do to improve my highway mileage/rpm.

I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1999, was part of the march to Baghdad in 2003, got commissioned in 2008, served in OEF, and am now teaching at EWTGLANT. No pics handy, but the 81 pickup in my avatar was my first Toyota 4wd and I have since owned an 85 pickup, a 94 4runner, a 95 T-100, a 69 FJ-55, a 76 FJ-55, a 93 FZJ-80, a 94 FZJ-80, and my current 97 FZJ-80.
