Howdy - have owned 2010 LX570 for 10yrs and now want to get to work on it myself! This is the most helpful group of helpers I came across ... looking fwd to making some connections specially if i can find more hands on experts in Houston!

Greetings.
Hello All:

I'm one of your new moderators here in the 200 section of IH8MUD.com which is, ostensibly, the world largest and most important internet-based repository of LC knowledge and community.

I am a devoted Cruiser Head and own a number of running and non-running Cruisers.

My main goal in the 200 series section is difficult to declare in any manner that might not come across as being overly "cautious". I say this due to the contentious nature of discussion--historically--between those whom own 200 series Cruisers (in all of their variations) and those who do not and maybe are here to get information, to see what the 200 series is all about, or other non-technical pursuits. There has been, as we all well know, significant amounts of mis-information and dis-information that has been posted here and represented as "bona fide technical information" about these vehicles that have become evident and apparent as being not only false but, using internet terminology, "troll-like behaviour."

This forum will continue to be an important area of technical information and knowledge. I want this section to be an informative area where those whom own the 200 can share tech tips, issues, modifications, upgrades, etc., without feeling like someone will come in and bash their vehicle and it's value to that individual. This location will also serve as an important location for those folks looking at the 200 series to add to their collection of Land Cruisers (perhaps) or if they are a first-time purchaser of a Toyota Land Cruiser, for this location to reflect the important heritage and history of this iconic vehicle.

I am quite serious about this as I want to make this sub section just as important as the other subsections here on MUD that are at the tops of internet web searching hits and rankings. I want people to come to MUD to discuss, research, and share their information and love of the 200 series variant of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

With that all being said, I hope that this location will suit many of the needs of 200 series owners and potential owners in the future; I hope this location will provide valuable information through experience and knowledge; I hope this location will be a place to share and discuss and commune.

If you have any issues, feel free to contact me via PM or email. I'll be happy to address any concerns members might have with interaction that goes on in the 200 section.

With Best Regards,
-onur

Good Luck. Deciding on a tire size seems to be one of the most talked about and over thought items in the process across all off-road boards. First decide on wheels and offset. I went with 18" w/25mm offset and mounted the AT/2 @275s.

Also, watch those 722 springs, i have found them to be much stiffer than stock and sometimes too stiff.
Thanks for all the information. I just purchased a 200 series amd I am really enjoying it. I look forward to learning more about it and am thankful for being a part of this group. This is my first post and I am sure others will follow with questions about my new obsession.

Just added a 2017 LX570 to the stable to sit along side my 2020 Heritage Edition. Getting rid of the wife's 2021 4Runner Venture edition and swapped it out for a 2017 LX570, one owner (woman who used it as a grocery grabber) with 80,000 miles. The missus is already in love with it. I am happy as can be and my private resale on the 4runner will be amazing. It was a good day.

Hey guys, I'm Chris. I'm coming over from an 80 Series that I should have NEVER sold and an FJ that I sold for way too little.

I'm looking at your rides and drooling. I'm getting older and appreciate all the new tech and creature comforts as well.

5.7L with almost 400hp! What? That straight 6 will always be my favorite motor, but wow. A V8 with that much power has to be fun in almost any setting - except rush hour traffic I guess.

I haven't made my purchase yet but I'm looking. I think my budget is right around the 20-25k mark. I'm hoping to get something in reasonably good shape. I want to putt around with the wife in it.

To prep for the truck hunt, I watched this video from Car Care Nut (who is pretty great): That guy is a true Toyota Guy. Really useful info on his channel - but it is all Toyotas; cars, trucks, SUVs.

Do you guys have any other things to look for or watch out for while I'm on my search for the ultimate use of my money?

Thanks for having me here! Hope someday to be able to kick in something useful in these threads.

See ya out there. Here's a couple pics of my past Cruisers. I guess I don't take a lot of photos, because these are all on tarmac. I swear they both made it to the mud several times.

Even in rush-hour traffic, one of the most comfortable vehicles to be in.

You won't regret getting one.
