Hello all from the South Island of New Zealand. I joined the forum a few months ago when I was researching LC200, and a great wealth of knowledge here was invaluable, albeit not so much on the RHD 4.5 diesel variant!

Found a nice 2021 Ltd with 50k miles on the clock. Only mods are from the original owner with the rims/tyres.

Love this truck, I came from a series of Utes - Hilux, Raptor, etc.. Loving the LC200.

Hello from the Netherlands! I’m Rob and I bought a 2008 Land Cruiser 200 VX 4.5 V8 Diesel with only 208.000 km on it. This weekend going for new fluids and filters all around. I will be using it as a daily driver.

I already have a modified 100 4.2 that I use as our vehicle for offroad camping. Possibly the 200 will be the successor of our 100 in a few years.

Love to look around in this forum to get more knowledge of all the mods.

Been lurking for a long time; particularly the Classifieds. I, my wife, and our two dogs (Malinois and Dutch Shepherd) are checking in from Front Royal, VA. We, finally, pulled the trigger on a '16 last night in Hagerstown, MD. Barely 100k miles on it with a few family-hauler scars...but nothing like what's about to happen to it! Incredibly excited to finally have our forever-SUV in the garage to complement our built RAM 2500 Power Wagon while still having the capability of towing our trailer. I keep telling myself I'm not going to build it all at once...but...self-control was never my strongsuit :meh:

Eventually it'll split adventure duties with the RAM as it's a far better fit for the East Coast green tunnels, but will be equally at home on our forays out west...particularly when we permanently relocate to Wyoming in the next couple years!

Looking forward to the insane wealth of knowledge here!

Ha, I was actually looking at this one about a month ago in Hagerstown. Ended up buying a black 2016 LC200 in Dulles. Definitely can't wait to go off roading in the near future. Congrats on your rig!

Dear members,

I am incredibly excited to finally purchase a 2016 Land Cruiser 200 with ~113,000 miles. Maintenance record is pristine with two previous owners, one was for a corporation. Only noted item on the Carfax is the front bumper damage from hitting a deer (no airbags were deployed, not sure what to make of this). However, you could not tell from the inspection that there was any damage. Undercarriage has minor rust due to it being driven in Indiana (and now in Maryland, another salty place). I will be coating the under carriage this weekend in my garage.

I look forward to absorbing the knowledge on this site and contributing with my own experience. Looking forward to the many trips to the Jersey shore, off-roading whenever time permits and long drives westward...Hoping this rig will take me to 500K miles+.

Oh that’s funny. I saw that one first but it was gone before I made up my mind to really look. What made you choose that one? Congrats on the new addition!

I’ve already put new brakes, wheels and tires on it 😏

Here's my 'new guy intro' post. I just got a pretty stock silver '08 with oodles of maint. records, KO2s on the stock wheels. Coming from an LR3 which I had for ~10 years, it's a pretty different beast. Lots of onion layers to peel here in the next few months.

The price on mine was too good to pass up (didn’t think the Fitzgerald would be able to Match). I also got videos of the under carriage and did an in person check before finalizing the sales.

It came with new tires and newish radiator (prob due to hitting the deer back in late ‘23). Inside was really well kept. It’ll be broken into soon enough with my two dogs and growing family. 😃

Do check your KDSS valves (mine is a bit more rusted that I would like).

Yeah, I gotta get under and check tomorrow, but it’s heading to Aylestock next week for a more thorough going over. The undercarriage is shockingly solid for a PA/NJ vehicle so my hopes are high!

Hello All:

I'm one of your new moderators here in the 200 section of IH8MUD.com which is, ostensibly, the world largest and most important internet-based repository of LC knowledge and community.

I am a devoted Cruiser Head and own a number of running and non-running Cruisers.

My main goal in the 200 series section is difficult to declare in any manner that might not come across as being overly "cautious". I say this due to the contentious nature of discussion--historically--between those whom own 200 series Cruisers (in all of their variations) and those who do not and maybe are here to get information, to see what the 200 series is all about, or other non-technical pursuits. There has been, as we all well know, significant amounts of mis-information and dis-information that has been posted here and represented as "bona fide technical information" about these vehicles that have become evident and apparent as being not only false but, using internet terminology, "troll-like behaviour."

This forum will continue to be an important area of technical information and knowledge. I want this section to be an informative area where those whom own the 200 can share tech tips, issues, modifications, upgrades, etc., without feeling like someone will come in and bash their vehicle and it's value to that individual. This location will also serve as an important location for those folks looking at the 200 series to add to their collection of Land Cruisers (perhaps) or if they are a first-time purchaser of a Toyota Land Cruiser, for this location to reflect the important heritage and history of this iconic vehicle.

I am quite serious about this as I want to make this sub section just as important as the other subsections here on MUD that are at the tops of internet web searching hits and rankings. I want people to come to MUD to discuss, research, and share their information and love of the 200 series variant of the Toyota Land Cruiser.

With that all being said, I hope that this location will suit many of the needs of 200 series owners and potential owners in the future; I hope this location will provide valuable information through experience and knowledge; I hope this location will be a place to share and discuss and commune.

If you have any issues, feel free to contact me via PM or email. I'll be happy to address any concerns members might have with interaction that goes on in the 200 section.

With Best Regards,
-onur

Hello onur,
Thanks for responding. I am new at this. I wanted to say that I bought my 2013 Landcruiser new, and because I because I had other bikes and vehicles over the years, she has only 49000 miles. Mostly stock, other than wheels and a flow master muffler. I love this Cruiser, which has been trouble free! I have also had a V8 4Runner

I was interested in maybe trading for a 2025 4Runner, but after test driving one, I am more inclined to keep my old friend. I was wondering if others have opinions about the 250 Landcruiser and the new 4Runner. If so , please let me know.
Thanks,
Whale

I don’t want this thread to get taken down, but simply put...

200 outclasses the 250 in almost every conceivable way.

The only upside to the 250 is the lighter steering in a parking lot, but beyond that, it’s not a a suitable replacement to the 200.

I would keep your 200. They don’t build them like they used to. The 200 is peak Toyota engineering.

Sorry I am a head gasket specialist for the 200 series.

I believe @Zill @TeCKis300 and @eatSleepWoof are the 250 specialists.

I was wondering if others have opinions about the 250 Landcruiser
