Hey Guys,

James Cameron, I grew up in Drayton Valley (about 120k west and a bit south of edmonton), moved to edmonton about 12 years ago.

DieselDaryl introduced me to RHD LC's with his 87, and I've been hooked ever since. Mine is a 90 HDJ81 that I brought in from Japan. I have done some upgrades (2.5" OME life, 33" rubber, ARB, Winch, remote start, espar heater) but have only done a bit of wheelin. Hope to do a bunch more this summer, and having this group here should help!

I'm an electronics geek and sell / install high end home theaters, home automation (smart home systems), and multi room sound systems.

Looking forward to a wing night now that I know your all here!

James

Hey Curtis,

Great work on getting the ball rolling on this clubhouse, would be up for some beer and wings.

Intro

Hi my name is Scott and "I am a cruiser addict", got my first cruiser 12 years ago, a 1974 fj55. The addiction started long before that with a friends 1981 BJ41. I live in Wetaskiwin, work in Fort Mac.

I presently own a 1989 BJ74, Cable lockers, 35's, Snorkel, PTO winch, OME lift and in the shop right now getting a Toybox installed. 1969 fj40 tube buggy project in the works, 5.3 Vortec, TH400, Atlas, 1 ton diffs, 4 link with coilovers, etc.

Looking forward to a get together with some local Cruiser Addicts

Scott

I agree it is great to see a LandCruiser clubhouse forming in edmonton, hi my name is Rod Mcpherson i was raised in Nova Scotia and have been living in Alberta now for ten years, My daily driver is a white 1988 BJ74, i also have a 78 FJ45 with no motor/tranny and lots of rust. Been into landcruisers for years my father had a BJ60 growing up. look forward to beer and wings. Take Care

Nice to hear from you Rod. You just missed a wing night last night, but there will likely be a BBQ or something in mid-June.

Howdy! I'm Spencer, 18 years old. My father is the original owner of a 1985 BJ60. Growing up though the years, I have always wanted his truck, but I realized he will never sell it. It's in showroom condition, looks like the day it rolled off the lot. I don't know what it is about these trucks, something about them I just can't get over. My dreams came true when I picked up a 1987 HJ60 off a farmer east of Adrossan a couple months back. It has a completely rebuilt motor with about 30k on it now, along with an OME lift and 33''s, soon to be 35''s. I love the truck to death. I also drive a turbo'd 1985 Toyota Corolla GTS that I use for drifting.

Hopefully I can get out to one of the next upcoming meets and get to meet a few of you guys.

Spencer

Welcome aboard. Should be a nice group of cruisers for a cruiser run one of these days

Hello,
I am Ali.
I have had a JDM LJ78 Prado for 3 years now.
Lookin forward to any club meets or runs.
Thanks,
Ali C.

Hi Ali, welcome aboard.

I see you've already popped into the long weekend thread, hopefully we can get something together.

Hey guys

my name is Guy, just moved to edmonton about 2 weeks ago i guess. moved from a place just north or Victoria which is where most of my cruisers still reside...however im driving a '81 BJ42 that i drove out here whenever i can and can afford it. im here for school so im riden the bus most of the times which sucks but....hey, its life.got my "C" level welding ticket and im goin to school for mech engineering tech at NAIT. been into cruisers since i was about 16 and still have my first truck...which is now my bush truck and was under construction when i left the island, she's shelfed till i go back for x-mas and have 2 weeks to work on it again...

looken forward to a wing/beer night or any activity...i know basically nobody in town, let alone cruiser heads so i was pretty stoked to find your forum here. anyways, ill toss up a pic of the truck i got here.

would be interested in any chance to wheel it on weekends

nd a link to my not updated build on my bush truck....

Nice to have you aboard Guy. If the 42 in the pic is representative of the condition of all your trucks, I'm jealous.... Heck, even if only it is that clean I'm still jealous.

The next wing/beer night will likely be in around the 23rd, a few of us just got back from a long weekend trip, but I think we have a hankering for more trail time, and there are more that are Jonesing for something more local and paint friendly.... so hopefully we can get out again before the snow starts to fly.

haha...she's got her issues, some rust going through in the floor boards and i need to make new seat frames at some point in the future...im without pretty much all of my tools for the time being though...till i go back to BC in the summer. but she gets me from A-B.

Im game for pretty much anything that might be capable inna stocker, not really concerned about paint however i cant go breaking axles shafts, birfs ect on every outing as i just dont have tools or space to do major work on my truck...i will be checking this section often as i can...hopefully before snow flies...even after maybe, just be bloody cold!

that truck probably in the best shape of my 2 1/2 trucks, the floor boards on my FJ40/bush truck look like a patchwork quilt and the 45 that my dad and i own is in dire need of a frame off, problem being we already have his BJ42 stripped down to a rolling chasis so...yea

looken forward to some beer and wings for sure

That BJ42 is gorgeous. I always love going to BC every summer, it seems everywhere I go I'm pointing out every Land Cruiser I see. I'm in NAIT as well, taking business year 1. You may end up seeing my hj60 around campus sometime.:D

Spencer

ya, ill keep an eye out for it for sure. where abouts in BC do you go to every summer? i seem to see a fair number around on the island...

Every year our family slowly make its way from Edmonton to the Peachland area, usually stopping in Cranbrook, Nelson, Revelstoke just to name a few places. Some years we go as far as Vancouver. I spent a bit of time early this year in Parksville/Naniamo visiting and doing some skiing. It's amazing how on the island I could ski, mountain bike, and ocean kayak all in the same day. I absolutely love B.C., especially around Nelson; I plan to move out there as soon as I'm done my schooling here.

new owner...

hi everyone...
rocdoc just poked me into posting :)

my names mike...moved out here about 13 years ago now, from nova scotia.i'm a senior field technician for a construction service company.just tripped over my 60 when i was looking for a spot to turn around over on the east side.the second of two po's had basicially lost interest and left it to slowly die.this is my first import of any kind...crawling all over it now, getting it ready for -30*.i can already see the vintage cruisers have some unique features that make them nice to work on...like drain plugs in the pumpkins...what a concept:D
been of-roading for many years, although not so much lately due to work, but hope to get out more in the future.
sorry i missed the last wing night...i'm working nights out at shell until further notice, but look forward to another one.hope to make it and see more of you out on the road...cheers:beer:
